“Deputies from our Morongo Basin Station responded to a residence in Landers for a male subject acting erratically. When deputies arrived, Elijah Allman, 48, was being evaluated by emergency medical personnel,” the SBCSD told PEOPLE.

Deputies reportedly found drugs inside the residence, though it remains unclear which substances were involved. An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Sources also told TMZ that Cher’s “only concern” at the moment is her son’s well-being. She is focused on supporting his recovery and ensuring he receives the care he needs.

Elijah Blue Allman Has Spoken About His Past Struggles

As per a report in US Weekly, Allman revealed he began using drugs at just 11 years old and has had close calls with overdoses in the past.

“I did have some close calls and some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality,” he said at the time. “I always kind of kept it a little bit safe but you never can do that. Even though you think that in your mind, of course the wrong things can happen.”

“The wrong combination of things can happen and you can just slip into the abyss. I knew it was wrong and I knew that I was very unsatisfied with life at that point,” he added.

Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, married British singer Marieangela King in 2013. According to People, King filed for divorce in April 2025, though it has yet to be finalized.

Around the time of her divorce filing, the artist told People, “We had a beautiful 13-year journey, filled with memories I’ll always cherish. I know we’ll remain friends, and Elijah will always hold a special place in my heart.” She also asked for “privacy and understanding” as she moves on to what she called “this next chapter.”

Cher Previously Filed for Conservatorship to Protect Her Son

Cher and Elijah’s relationship has been rocky. In 2023, Cher filed for conservatorship of her son’s finances, citing “severe mental health and substance abuse issues” that left him unable to manage his money.

The matter was settled a few months later.

Focusing on Recovery

For now, Allman is home and continuing to recover, with loved ones by his side.
