Legendary Singer Still Fighting Off Internet Hoax Years Later

Singer Céline Dion has way too much going on without random corners of the internet trying to write her off every few years. But here we are, again. Despite managing a rare and challenging health condition, the iconic singer keeps getting dragged back into wild rumors, fueled by a fake video, recycled speculation, and the newest AI tricks.

But if you’ve been paying attention, you know she’s still here, still shining, and definitely still making waves.

A Video Started It All

This whole mess kicked off back in 2019 with a video that looked like a CNN broadcast announcing something terrible had happened to Céline. Problem is, the video wasn’t real. It was an edited clip from a CNN report on Anthony Bourdain’s passing, with Dion’s name and picture slapped on to make it look legit.

Her talent agency jumped in fast, calling out the video as a total fake and confirming she was perfectly fine. You can bet fact-checkers like AFP Fact Check were on it too, shutting down the rumor before it could spread even further.

Fast forward to 2022, and Céline dropped a big update: she’d been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that’s been making life tough. She shared this openly in an emotional video message to fans, showing her strength and vulnerability. Naturally, she had to cancel her world tour to focus on her health.

By 2023 that announcement had sparked a whole new round of internet rumors. Suddenly, there were clickbait headlines and viral posts implying she’d disappeared or was in worse shape than anyone knew. None of it was true, according to Snopes, but you know how fast misinformation travels.

Dion Speaks Out — And Shows Up

By 2024, Céline and her team got serious about fighting the fake stuff. She warned fans about AI-generated deepfakes and voice clones pretending to be her; fake songs, videos, and other nonsense meant to fool people, per InStyle. Her message was clear: be skeptical, question everything, and don’t buy into shady online content.

And just to set the record straight, in 2025 she made more than enough public appearances to allay the rumors. First, a heartfelt video message at Eurovision in May, reminding everyone she’s still very much a presence in the music world.

A month later (in June), she was spotted at a Coldplay concert in Las Vegas, hanging out with her sons, smiling, clapping, and clearly enjoying the night, People reported.

And just when you thought Céline couldn’t surprise us more, in July, she teamed up with Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso to drop a fresh remix of “A New Day Has Come.” She even posted a fun studio clip showing she’s still got that energy and love for creating.

So yeah, the internet rumors? Totally busted. Céline Dion hasn’t gone anywhere. She’s still here, still amazing, and yes… still unforgettable.
