Bruce Springsteen Biopic Sets Official Release Date: Here’s What We Know

Heads up, Bruce Springsteen fans, the biopic is closer than we think!

“Deliver Me From Nowhere,” which stars Jeremy Allen White as “The Boss” himself, is set to hit theaters this fall. Scott Cooper, who directed and wrote the biopic, revealed that the film will officially be released on Oct. 24. Distributed by 20th Century Studios, the movie also features “Succession” actor Jeremy Strong as Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime record producer and manager.

The film centers on the start of Springsteen’s rise, focusing on his critically acclaimed 1982 album “Nebraska.” Other cast members include Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, Chris Jaymes, and more. It is partially adapted from Warren Zanes’ 2023 book of the same name, which served as a major reference point for Cooper while writing the script. Both Springsteen and Landau are reportedly heavily involved in the project, a detail that reassured fans at the time of the biopic’s announcement.

The First Look

Just last month, both Strong and White appeared at CinemaCon, where they debuted the film’s first trailer. The footage included White, best known for “The Bear,” singing Springsteen’s iconic hit “Born to Run.” Speaking about the role, White called it a dream come true.

“I feel really lucky. We all had Bruce’s blessing on this film,” he said.

According to Deadline, the film “examines a transformative period in Springsteen’s life around the creation of his 1982 album Nebraska. The film examines his creative process during a time when he was grappling with fame, mental health, and complicated family dynamics.”

Springsteen himself expressed excitement about White’s portrayal. Speaking on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio, he said, “Jeremy is such a terrific actor that you just fall right into it. He’s got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize. He’s just done a great job, so I’ve had a lot of fun being on the set when I can get there.”

‘Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band’

Springsteen remains a towering figure in the music industry and is widely regarded as one of the greatest musicians of all time. His accolades include an Oscar, a special Tony Award, and 20 Grammy Awards. Last year, the “Born to Run” singer released a documentary titled “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.” It focused on his live shows and is currently streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.

“Deliver Me To Nowhere” is set to face strong competition at the box office, going up against Colleen Hoover’s novel-turned-movie “Regretting You.” It will also face Warner Bros.’ “Mortal Kombat II” and Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Bugonia.” Still, White continues to gain momentum in Hollywood thanks to his breakout role as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in “The Bear,” a performance that has earned him three consecutive Golden Globe Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards.
