The Fourth of July has arrived, which means it’s a time to celebrate with fireworks shows and parades. One of the big celebrations of the day takes place in Boston with the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular.
It’s Independence Day tradition, and we are sharing the Boston Pops Fireworks 2025 host and performers that will be helping you celebrate tonight in Beantown.
Who Is Hosting the Boston Pops Fireworks 2025?
The Boston Symphony Orchestra has hosted a free concert along the Charles River to celebrate Independence Day since 1929. The city added fireworks and cannons to the tradition in 1976.
For 2025, the Boston Pops will once again host the city’s celebration of independence. The night, once again, will feature free music and fireworks.
Who Is Performing at the 2025 Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular?
The main event of the concert will involve the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, led by conductor Keith Lockhart. The group will perform beloved favorites, including Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture.”
The Pops announced they would be joined on stage by musical guests Leslie Odom Jr., LeAnn Rimes, Bell Biv DeVoe, the Boston Children’s Chorus, and The Soldiers’ Chorus of the United States Army Field Band.
The concert will wrap up with the Mugar Family Fireworks, which will be a dazzling display of red, white, and blue colors and confetti over the Charles River.
How to Attend the Boston Pops Fireworks 2025
For those wanting to attend this year’s Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, it will take place on Friday, July 4. The concert kicks things off at 7 p.m. ET, and the fireworks will start at 9:40 p.m. ET.
The show takes place in Boston, along the Charles River Esplanade. You can find the event between Longfellow and Massachusetts Avenue Bridges at the DCR Hatch Shell, which is located at 47 David G. Mugar Way.
Officials state there are two secured areas for the event: The Oval, which is a grassy area directly in front of the Hatch Shell, and the Island/Lagoon, which is an area to the left of the Hatch Shell.
For those attending, The Oval opens at noon, and all of the secured areas will close once they reach capacity. While tickets are not required, anyone entering the secured areas will need to go through a bag check.
Hatch Shell is the official viewing location for the concert. However, the fireworks can be seen from all along the Esplanade.
If you can’t make the 2025 Boston Pops Fireworks show in person, you can watch it on live TV, airing locally on WHDH from 7-10 p.m. ET and nationally on The CW Network from 9-10 p.m. ET.
