Black Sabbath Mourns the Loss of Beloved ‘Brother’ Ozzy Osbourne

The loss of Ozzy Osbourne continues to send shockwaves through the rock community. It isn’t so much that his passing was unexpected, as he had been battling a variety of health issues for years, but it is the thought that he is gone that leaves many in mourning.

Tributes to the iconic rocker and occasional reality star began pouring in almost immediately after his death was announced, and now the remaining members of Black Sabbath have also individually shared their sense of love and loss.

Bill Ward may have been the very first member of Black Sabbath to gather his thoughts and share them on Instagram on July 22, 2025.

He captioned his post, “Where will I find you now? In the memories, our unspoken embraces, our missed phone calls, no, you’re forever in my heart. Deepest condolences to Sharon and all family members. RIP Sincere regrets to all the fans. Never goodbye. Thank you forever. Bill Ward.”

Tony Iommi also mourned his friend, saying, “I just can’t believe it! My dear dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park.

It’s just such heartbreaking news that I can’t really find the words, there won’t ever be another like him. Geezer, Bill and myself have lost our brother.

My thoughts go out to Sharon and all the Osbourne family. Rest in peace Oz. Tony.”

Then, it was Geezer Butler’s turn to honor Oz.

He captioned his Instagram post, “Goodbye dear friend- thanks for all those years- we had some great fun. 4 kids from Aston- who’d have thought, eh? So glad we got to do it one last time, back in Aston. Love you.”

His family has issued a statement to the BBC, which reads, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Fellow musicians and fans alike are in agreement that there will never be another Ozzy Osbourne.
