Beyoncé kicked off the London portion of her Cowboy Carter tour yesterday, and by all accounts, the first show was a success. “Every element of the performance was flawless, from the 43-year-old superstar’s stunning array of costume changes (each one featuring more rhinestones than the last) to the seamless transitions between songs and musical themes,” the BBC wrote about the concert.
Despite the glowing reviews, fans noticed one apparent wardrobe malfunction that occurred during “I’m That Girl.” The “Irreplaceable” singer laughed it off and got back to work, leaving many admiring the star’s ability to make a mistake look purposeful.
Beyoncé’s Chaps Fell Mid-Dance, & She Handled It Like a Pro
Beyoncé and her dancers were perfectly in sync as they danced to “I’m That Girl” during the first London show of The Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour. But as they each put their right foot down, a fan happened to take a TikTok video of Beyoncé’s sparkling chaps falling around her ankles. But, being the professional that she is, she didn’t immediately acknowledge the mishap.
The dancers kept dancing while the “Crazy in Love” singer kept singing, and then, very slowly, she reached down and grabbed the chaps. With a big smile on her face, she shimmied her way back up, holding onto the chaps as if she’d meant for that to happen.
The dancers kept moving, while one came behind her and quickly fastened her back up. The show continued, barely missing a beat.
Blue Ivy Had Her Own Wardrobe Malfunction During the Chicago Concert
Fans were very impressed at Beyoncé and the dancer’s recovery. “The pants did their own choreography matched with the beat,” a fan wrote in the comments.
“I’m sorry but them dancers are NEXT level it was so effortless,” wrote another. “She didn’t have to say anything.”
One TikToker observed cheekily that “Blue has already typed up that email,” referring to her and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy. She had her own unfortunate incident during the Chicago stop of the tour. During that show, Blue Ivy’s earring got caught in Beyoncé’s hair.
Beyoncé and Rumi were cuddling on stage, while Blue Ivy sat on a step above them. As Beyoncé sang “Protector,” Blue Ivy’s eyes got very wide. She realized her gold hoop earring was tangled in her mother’s hair.
She quickly detangled her earring, while Beyoncé and Rumi seemed completely oblivious to the mishap.
