Beyoncé Posts Touching Tribute to Sir Paul McCartney

Beyoncé wrote an admiring message to Beatles member Paul McCartney after the second London show of her “Cowboy Carter” tour.

On Monday, June 16, the songstress wrote on Instagram, “Thank you, Sir Paul McCartney, for writing one of the best songs ever made. Every time I sing it I feel so honored.”

The superstar may have been referring to a cover she included on her “Cowboy Carter” album, which she performs as part of her setlist for the tour.

Her message also shouted out the 82-year-old icon’s fashion designer daughter, Stella McCartney. “And it is a full circle moment to wear your beautiful daughter’s design,” said the “Halo” singer.

Beyoncé also acknowledged the city of London for giving her family “unforgettable moments,” before declaring she will definitely be back. “Holla at ‘ya when I come on tour again!” said the mom of three.

Which Paul McCartney Song Did Beyoncé Cover?

Beyoncé covered the Paul McCartney song “Blackbird” for her album “Cowboy Carter,” which was released in March 2024. The original version of the song, penned and performed by McCartney, is a track on the album “The Beatles,” alternatively called “The White Album.”

In April 2024, McCartney reacted positively to Beyoncé’s cover of his song, saying he was “so happy” with her version.

“I spoke to her on FaceTime and she thanked me for writing it and letting her do it. I told her the pleasure was all mine and I thought she had done a killer version of the song,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

He also noted that his goal in the song was to ease racial tension, and said he was inspired to write it by the dismay he felt at seeing the injustices of school segregation play out in the early 1960s.

Beyoncé Stunned in Stella McCartney Costume

The “Single Ladies” singer graced the stage at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a gorgeous design by McCartney’s 53-year-old daughter, Stella. The Instagram page @fashionbombdaily posted footage of the A-lister twirling in the outfit.

The look consisted of an on-theme white short-sleeved bodysuit which was adorned with a pair of blackbird decals. On bottom, the singer wore denim shorts with a thin black belt. But the most eye-catching part of the ensemble was the magnificently detailed fringe rhinestone chaps.

The former “Destiny’s Child” member previously donned another look by the designer for her “Renaissance” tour, according to label’s official website.

“Beyoncé wore a custom Stella McCartney look during her Renaissance World Tour, on Thursday 8th June at Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona,” boasts a page on the site.

On June 15, Stella McCartney shared a sweet Father’s Day message for her superstar father which read in part, “Dad… My love and admiration for you grows stronger every day… I am very blessed to have chosen you to be my father in this life and cherish every single piece of you deep in my soul.”

She accompanied the note with an adorable vintage video of herself joyfully dancing with her dad.
