Beyoncé Pauses Concert to Celebrate Her Twins’ Birthday

Beyoncé turned her Cowboy Carter show into a birthday bash for her twins. During her fourth night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 12, the Grammy winner took a moment to honor Rumi and Sir Carter as they turned 8.

While performing her emotional track “Protector,” Beyoncé held Rumi close while serenading her in front of thousands. Soon, 13-year-old big sister Blue Ivy joined them onstage, prompting Beyoncé to lead the crowd in a birthday chant.

“Everybody say happy birthday, Rumi,” she said, as fans cheered and Rumi waved back excitedly. Blue sweetly touched her sister’s chin in a tender moment.

Beyoncé then had the crowd shout out her son: “Say happy birthday, Sir. I love you,” she added, though he stayed offstage.

A Family Affair on Tour

Rumi and Blue Ivy have both made regular appearances onstage during this tour. Rumi, in particular, has been a fan favorite thanks to her heartwarming reactions during “Protector.”

Meanwhile, Blue Ivy has become a standout dancer throughout the Cowboy Carter shows, building on her debut from the 2022 Renaissance World Tour.

Her daughters have been joining her on the Cowboy Carter tour, following in Blue Ivy’s footsteps from the Renaissance World Tour.

Sir usually keeps a low profile, but he made a rare appearance on camera when Beyoncé kicked off the Cowboy Carter Tour at SoFi Stadium in L.A. on April 28.

Beyoncé on Parenthood

Earlier this year, Beyoncé opened up about raising her three children in a GQ interview. “Raising three kids isn’t easy,” she admitted. “The older they get, the more they become their own individuals with unique needs, hobbies, and social lives.”

She described Rumi and Sir as “God-sent,” adding, “Parenting constantly teaches you about yourself. It takes a lot of prayer and patience. I love it. It’s grounding and fulfilling.”

Tina Knowles on Her Grandkids’ Star Power

The Carter kids’ talent clearly runs in the family. In March, their grandmother Tina Knowles praised Rumi’s budding star power.

“Oh, I’m so proud of Rumi,” she told E! News. “All of my grandchildren, all of them are amazing.”
