Clear your calendar and grab the remote, because the 2025 BET Awards are officially around the corner, and yep, they’re coming in hot. This year marks the 25th anniversary (how has it been that long?!), and BET is pulling out all the stops for what’s already shaping up to be a night of legends, loud fashion, and no shortage of unforgettable moments.
Whether you’re watching for the music, the memes, or to see who ends up breaking the internet mid-performance, here’s everything you need to know about when, where, and how to catch the show.
When & Where It’s All Going Down
The awards show kicks off tonight, Monday, June 9, 2025. Set those alerts now because the live broadcast starts at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET (as well as MTV, MTV2, NAN, Pop, Logo, CMT, and Paramount Network). And if you’re the kind of fan who loves to catch every strut and sparkle on the red carpet? The pre-show kicks off at 6 p.m. ET/PT, streaming across BET’s digital platforms.
Don’t Have Cable? You can still catch every second live with a subscription to most major platforms. The BET Awards will be streaming on platforms like Hulu + Live TV, Philo, Sling, YouTube TV, DirecTV Stream, and on BET’s official site and app.
The whole celebration takes place at the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE, which has basically become home base for the BET Awards. And with it being the 25th anniversary? You know they’re going big.
Who’s Performing, Hosting & Showing Up Icon-Level
This year’s host? None other than Kevin Hart, who’s no stranger to this stage; and let’s be real, he’s probably got jokes already locked and loaded. On the icon front, BET’s handing out its “Ultimate Icon Award” to four powerhouses: Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Jamie Foxx, and Kirk Franklin. Legends only.
As for performers, we’re talking Lil Wayne, Teyana Taylor, Playboi Carti, GloRilla, and Leon Thomas; with even more names likely to pop up last-minute. It wouldn’t be an awards show without a surprise or two.
Throwbacks, Nominations & a Little “106 & Park” Magic
Because it’s the 25th anniversary, expect serious nostalgia. Yep, we’re talking about a full “106 & Park” reunion… AJ, Free, Rocsi, Terrence J, and even Bow Wow are reuniting onstage. If your after-school routine included racing home to catch music videos and countdowns, this one’s for you.
On the nomination front, Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with 10 nods (no surprise there), followed by Doechii, Drake, Future, and GloRilla, who each scored six.
Tune In or Miss Out
The BET Awards aren’t just a show; they’re a cultural reset. With 25 years of epic performances, tearful speeches, and viral moments behind them, this year’s celebration is gonna be one for the books. So whether you’re watching solo or throwing a watch party, one thing’s clear: June 9 is booked.
