Music is at the heart of everything. Everything.
Concerts are community events where audiences come together to celebrate an artist. Movies having stunning backing tracks that pair well with scenes on screen. Podcasts even have theme songs.
Every Friday, artists release new albums and singles for the world to enjoy. Here are a few you should be paying attention to.
Joe Jonas, “Music For People Who Believe In Love”
Joe Jonas takes another solo outing with “Music For People Who Believe In Love.” The DNCE and Jonas Brothers singer hasn’t released a solo project since 2011. Singles like “Heart By Heart” and “What Could This Be” don’t paint the entire picture of the album even if they do give the general vibe of the situation. A majority of the songs are particularly upbeat, with instruments blending into vocals and everything delivering candy-coated happy thoughts to listeners.
Stereolab, “Instant Holograms”
English-French rockers Stereolab are back with their first album in 15 years with “Instant Holograms.” The electric sounds mixed with the lightness of the instruments like the guitars, drums, and even tambourines plant songs like “Melodie Is A Wound” in a boppy aesthetic. It’s hard not to move around while songs like “Flashes From Everywhere” are on.
Various Artists, “Lilo & Stitch (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)”
Featuring the likes of Mark Keali’i Ho’maul, Iam Tongi and Dan Romer, this album for “Lilo & Stitch” remake brings nostalgia to the modern age. There’s even an updated version of the popular “Hawaiian Roller COaster Ride” from the original film.
Bonuses & Such
Green Day released an updated version of their 2024 album “Saviors” subtitled “(edition de luxe).” The latest additions include seven new tracks, two of which are acoustic.
Chris Stapleton put out a song for the upcoming “F1” movie starring Brad Pitt. It’s called “Bad As I Used To Be” and features the twangy guitar Stapleton is known for. It also looks like “F1” the movie will have a companion album as well.
