Benny Blanco on Fatherhood with Fiancée Selena Gomez

When love transforms a lifelong bachelor into someone who can’t wait to start a family, you know it’s the real deal.

Music producer Benny Blanco is embracing his role as the ultimate “wife guy” while openly sharing his hopes for parenthood with fiancée Selena Gomez. The 37-year-old hitmaker, who has crafted chart-toppers for everyone from Britney Spears to Katy Perry, recently opened his heart about their future together during a candid interview with InStyle.

Currently living in his Beverly Hills home, which he has called home for six years, Blanco is preparing for major life changes. The couple announced their engagement in December 2024 and have already purchased a Spanish-style estate in the Hills together, according to InStyle. But beyond wedding planning and house hunting, Blanco’s thoughts are focused on an even bigger dream. “I love kids; I love being an uncle. I want to be a dad, though, God willing. I’m just dreaming and praying every day,” Blanco shared.

Their love story reads like something from a romantic comedy. Blanco and Gomez first crossed paths when she was just 16 years old, though they didn’t collaborate professionally until years later during her 2015 album “Revival,” InStyle reports. The connection that began with hit songs “Same Old Love” and “Kill Em With Kindness” eventually blossomed into something neither expected.

“I met Selena when she was 16. We didn’t work together until many years later. They say you’ve probably already met the person that you’re gonna spend the rest of your life with… I never believed that shit until it happened to me,” Blanco told the outlet. “And now I get to kiss her. It’s like my own little fairytale I concocted.”

From Musical Partnership to Life Partnership

The couple’s creative collaboration continues to flourish alongside their romance. In March, they released their joint album “I Said I Love You First,” a collection of intimate pop songs recorded in a guest room at Blanco’s home. The project features contributions from artists such as Charli XCX, Gracie Abrams, and María Zardoya from The Marías.

Their musical bond extends beyond their own creations, particularly through their shared appreciation for Taylor Swift. Gomez, a longtime friend of Swift, has converted Blanco into what he proudly calls a “full Swiftie.” “In the car, we’ll have our little Swiftie moment. She’s a true Swiftie, through and through. Then she got me on the train, and now I’m a full Swiftie,” he explained. The couple also connects over classic artists like Aretha Franklin, with “One Step Ahead” holding special significance as their favorite track together.

Their collaborative album wasn’t just a professional venture but emerged organically from intimate moments sharing records and discovering music together. The deluxe edition, titled “…And You Said It Back,” was released on May 2nd, showcasing their continued artistic partnership.

Building a Foundation for Forever

Blanco’s transformation from bachelor to devoted partner didn’t happen overnight. He credits his mother with teaching him how to understand relationships and treat women with respect. Growing up, he watched his mother navigate dating challenges after her divorce, learning valuable lessons about emotional intelligence and communication.

“My mom always took the time to explain how a female mind works because she was going through so many dating traumas when I was growing up,” Blanco shared with InStyle. These early lessons shaped his approach to relationships and contributed to his success with Gomez.

At 37, Blanco brings years of experience and hard-earned wisdom to their relationship. “I’m 37 years old. I hope I know how to treat a woman by now! Like, you should always ask a woman what they wanna do. Don’t always talk about yourself,” he said. His dating journey taught him valuable lessons: “You know how many frogs I had to kiss to get to Selena? They were beautiful frogs!”

The producer’s advice for other men reflects his growth and understanding. “Guys are so bad… I know so many awesome women who are single. And it’s like, how are they single? They’re 10 out of 10! But there are so many f—kboys. Don’t settle, ladies,” he advised.

While Gomez continues filming the fifth season of “Only Murders in the Building” in New York, Blanco remains focused on their shared future. His dreams of becoming a father show just how much Gomez has changed his life, turning him from a successful producer into someone ready to start a family.
