Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, also known as Bad Bunny, has been in the limelight for many years. His debut album “X100PRE” was released in 2018. From films to WWE fights to sold out tours, the Puerto Rican singer has accomplished what many would dream of, including him.
“As a kid I always had a big imagination,” he told Vogue in an interview. “I would like to get out of my head and see everything I ever thought of. When as a kid I used to go on imaginary journeys and I would envision myself on this or that stage, at wrestling matches, or appearing on films.”
However, his passion doesn’t stem from a place of greed.
“I don’t know if it’s normal for those things to come true,” he told Vogue, “but my hunger has never been about fame, or becoming more popular, or being the greatest. My hunger has always been artistic and personal.”
About the Album
Adding to Bad Bunny’s notable music career is his latest album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos”, also known as “DTMF”. The 17-track album hit music streaming platforms on Jan.5.
The album transports listeners to Puerto Rico, the Caribbean island where Bad Bunny was born and where he calls home. Through the use of different genres such as salsa and bolero, the artist creates a scene in which the old and new come together.
Despite the Latin-music star having several albums under his belt, what makes this musical body of work stand out from the rest is its meaning to the singer.
“DTMF is the most important and most real album I’ve made,” he told Vogue. “The phrase comes from this idea that you should have … appreciated that moment more, those people, your country, your land. It’s a regret but it’s also an advice that sometimes you just have to live and forget about taking pictures.”
