“The Challenge: Vets and New Threats” is well underway, with three members eliminated so far, and the fourth episode has one more player being sent home after an elimination tonight.
Vet Nia Moore suffered a knee injury during the last daily challenge and was unable to compete in the daily as it was a physical challenge with players jumping from a tall tower and swimming to a puzzle.
Host TJ Lavin told Nia that she’d automatically get sent into elimination, but her MRI showed an injury that was too risky, and she was sent home.
Moore’s partner at the time, Gabe Wai, was still in the game, as it was a woman’s elimination. However, he is now the new “hangnail,” which makes him unable to compete in the next daily and automatically risks being voted into the next elimination.
Previously, Rogan O’Connor, who won “War of the Worlds 2,” was sent home on the first day. “Big Brother” alum Blue Kim was eliminated in the second episode.
We’ll be covering “The Challenge” 41 live, so be sure to check in for updates and see who gets sent home in episode 4.
The Daily Challenge: Amazed
The next daily challenge, called “Amazed,” consists of 120 containers making a giant maze, which contains puzzles.
Players must race to the puzzle, solve it as quickly as possible, and then exit the maze. The harder puzzles are located closer to the exit, and contestants have 45 minutes to complete them, with the fastest time declared the winner.
The puzzles turn out to be Sudokus, and the players are struggling to complete them. During Heat 1, CT Tamburello and Adrienne Naylor, along with Olivia Kaiser and Yeremy Hykel, are the first to finish, so it’s a race to the end.
Ultimately, Yeremy makes a wrong turn, and CT and Adrienne get first place.
The second heat groups aren’t as strong as the first, and they’re really struggling. Finally, Michaela Bradshaw and her partner, Ben Davis, get first.
In the end, Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio and Leka Sodade placed last, with Michaela and Ben winning first.
“This is the first time in my 25 seasons that I have done so poorly in a challenge that I’m sent directly into elimination,” Bananas said.
The Elimination Between Bananas & Gabe
After the deliberation, the majority of the cast voted in Gabe against Bananas. “If I’m going to take somebody out, might as well take out the seven-time champ Johnny Bananas, and possibly get back into the good graces of the people of the house,” Gabe told the cameras.
The next elimination was called “Hold ‘Em Back,” which consisted of an arena with three lanes. Each player has to grab a token while being hooked to a harness and run to the goal while the other player pulls their rope to stave them off. Each player has to grab all three tokens and place them at the goal within the fastest time.
Bananas was up first as the offense, and his plan was to tire Gabe out so that he’d have no energy during his round.
Eventually, Bananas got all three tokens in, and soon, it’s Gabe’s turn, and everyone was amazed at his speed.
“Apparently, Gabe didn’t lose any power,” Bananas said in a confessional. “I’m afraid to grab the rope. I feel like my arms are going to get ripped off.”
Bananas held on with all his power, but Gabe did a power walk to the finish line with his token. “The best I could do was slow him down,” the “Challenge” champ said after his loss.
With Bananas eliminated, the New Threats have a leg up against the vets. Tune into “The Challenge” on Wednesday nights to see how the power play develops against the vets and the new players.
