Which Star of The Challenge Has Been On the Most Seasons?

“The Challenge” has been an MTV staple since 1998. During that nearly three-decade run, the show has given fans 40 seasons — and season 41 is right around the corner. With that many seasons under its belt, “The Challenge” has obviously featured dozens of reality stars. The question is: which one has competed on the flagship series the most?

‘The Challenge’ Featured MTV Stars at First

When the show made its debut, it was known as “Road Rules: All Stars.” Then the title became “Real World/Road Rules Challenge,” before getting the simpler title that we know today. At first, “The Challenge” was set up for contestants from “The Real World” and “Road Rules” to compete against each other. 

In the years that followed, MTV expanded “The Challenge” to include stars from other reality TV shows in the United States and around the world. There have also been various spinoffs. The game has gotten more demanding, and the cash prize for winning it all has grown into six figures. 

Two GOATS Have Been On the Most Seasons

There are a few contestants who have become Challenge-obsessed over the years. But there is one who stands out above the rest. Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio is the winningest contestant in the history of “The Challenge.” So, it makes sense that the 42-year-old has appeared in the most seasons. Devenanzio has competed in a whopping 22 seasons and won the show seven times (The Island, The Ruins, Rivals, Battle of the Exes, Free Agents, Rivals III, and Total Madness).

Coming in right behind him is Chris “C.T.” Tamburello. He has been confirmed as a contestant for season 41, and that will mark his 21st season on the show. Tamburello has won “The Challenge” five times (Rivals II, Invasion of the Champions, War of the Worlds 2, Double Agents, and Spies, Lies & Allies).

The Top Ladies of ‘The Challenge’

As for the women, there are two who have competed more than a dozen times. Aneesa Ferreria has 17 seasons under her belt, and season 41 will mark her 18th appearance on “The Challenge.” She has yet to win the show, but she’s a formidable vet opponent whenever she is part of the cast. 

Cara Maria Sorbello has appeared on the flagship Challenge series 15 times. She’s made numerous appearances in the finals and has won the show twice (Battle of the Bloodlines and Vendettas).
