‘Laguna Beach’ Cast Then & Now

It’s been over 20 years since MTV first introduced the world to the sun-drenched drama of “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.” Premiering in 2004, the show followed a group of teens navigating high school, heartbreak, and hometown fame. The cast, including Kristin Cavallari, Lauren “LC” Conrad, and Stephen Colletti, quickly became household names and helped launch a new era of reality television.

Since the final season aired in 2006, many of the cast members have gone on to explore careers in fashion, wellness, entertainment, and business. Some have remained in the public eye, while others stepped away from the spotlight to pursue quieter lives.

Here’s a 2025 update on where the cast is now—and why some of them are back on TV tonight.

Kristin Cavallari Then & Now

Kristin Cavallari is back in the spotlight with her new docuseries, “Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour,” which premieres June 4, 2025, on E! and Bravo at 10 p.m. ET. The show follows her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast tour and is already being called her most unfiltered project yet. It will also be available to stream on Peacock one week after airing.

Over the past decade, Cavallari has kept busy building her lifestyle brand, Uncommon James, releasing multiple best-selling books, and raising three children with ex-husband and former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler. The pair split in 2020. She previously starred in E!’s “Very Cavallari” and co-hosted the “Back to the Beach” podcast with ex-boyfriend and fellow castmate Stephen Colletti.

Lauren Conrad Then & Now

After graduating from high school at the end of season 1 of “Laguna Beach,” Lauren Conrad briefly attended the Academy of Art University before moving to Los Angeles to study at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Her internship at Teen Vogue inspired her MTV spinoff, “The Hills,” which aired from 2006 to 2010. After stepping away from reality TV in 2009, she launched a successful clothing line with Kohl’s, a now-defunct beauty brand, and authored several bestselling young adult novels and lifestyle guides.

Today, Conrad runs The Little Market, a fair trade shop she co-founded in 2013, and continues to design for her children’s line, Little Co. In 2022, she released her first fragrance, LOVED by Lauren Conrad. She married lawyer William Tell in 2014, and the couple have two sons.

Stephen Colletti Then & Now

Stephen Colletti rose to fame as part of the central love triangle with Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari on “Laguna Beach.” After a brief stint at San Francisco State University, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. He gained attention starring in Taylor Swift’s 2009 “White Horse” music video and later landed a long-running role as Chase Adams on “One Tree Hill,” remaining with the series until it wrapped in 2012.

Colletti has since appeared on VH1’s “Hit the Floor” and co-created the Hulu comedy “Everyone Is Doing Great,” which premiered in 2021. He also co-hosts the rewatch podcast “Back to the Beach with Kristin and Stephen” alongside Cavallari. In 2022, he confirmed his relationship with NASCAR reporter Alex Weaver, and the couple got engaged the following year.

Lo Bosworth Then & Now

Lo Bosworth first appeared on “Laguna Beach” as Lauren Conrad’s best friend and later joined her on “The Hills,” remaining on the show even after Conrad’s departure. Following her reality TV run, she launched a blog and released a 2011 book titled “The Lo Down.” In 2016, she founded Love Wellness, a women’s health and supplement brand focused on holistic care. She expanded the brand’s mission with her 2022 wellness guide, Love Yourself Well.

Jason Wahler Then & Now

Jason Wahler appeared on season 2 of “Laguna Beach” and later joined the original cast of “The Hills” as love interest to Lauren Conrad. His struggles with substance abuse became public following his appearance on reality tv, and he later sought treatment on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” in 2010.

Since then, Wahler has become a vocal recovery advocate, often speaking about how early fame impacted his addiction. He returned to reality TV in 2019 for “The Hills: New Beginnings,” appearing in both seasons until the reboot ended in 2022. He married Ashley Slack in 2013, and they now have two children.

Other “Laguna” Cast Members Then & Now

Talan Torriero was featured in seasons 1 and 2 of “Laguna Beach,” where he gained a reputation as a ladies’ man and was briefly romantically linked to Kristin Cavallari, Nicole Scherzinger, and Kimberly Stewart. According to People, he married Danielle Zuroski in 2014, and the couple now lives on a farm in Nebraska with their three children.

Trey Phillips once known as the “artsy” friend on “Laguna”, became a successful fashion designer, working for Vera Wang and launching his own sketch brand, Motion Illustrated.

Dieter Schmitz originally featured as “Stephen’s friend” on seasons 1 and 2, Schmitz now works in hospitality management and lives in Connecticut with his wife and three children according to US Weekly.

Alex Murrel joined “Laguna Beach” in season 2 and was briefly romantically involved with Jason Wahler. After a short-lived music career that ended in 2009, she shifted gears and now runs a boutique marketing agency. She married her husband, Kyle, in 2014, and they have three children together.

Whether or not tonight’s episode of “Honestly Cavallari” features a “Laguna Beach” reunion, the original cast continues to hold a lasting place in reality TV history.
