Deadpool Returns: See Who He Teams Up With Now

“Avengers: Doomsday” is one of the most talked-about upcoming Marvel movies. This is the case for several reasons, notably as it marks the return of Robert Downey Jr., this time playing Dr. Doom, as well as Jo Russo and Anthony Russo. Now, there is widespread speculation that Ryan Reynolds will also appear as Deadpool. 

Regarding reasons people think Reynolds will be in “Avengers: Doomsday,” he recently posted the logo on his Instagram account. However, the image he posted had been vandalized. So far, the post hinting at his return has over a million “likes.” 

Reports Say Reynolds Will Return for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

So far, Reynolds hasn’t been included in any of the casting news for “Avengers: Doomsday.” Many fans were surprised by the omission as Deadpool is such a popular character. However, the August 15 edition of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Heat Vision” has some good news for fans of the foul-mouthed character. 

According to the report, “Deadpool will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. (Don’t expect him to actually be joining the Avengers team, though.)”

So, what exactly does this mean? The easy answer is that perhaps he’s not in the upcoming Marvel movie for very long. His appearance may only be a cameo, or it’ll only be in a couple of scenes. 

Still, this may not be the case; Reynolds’ Deadpool could team up with another character from the film without being a part of the Avengers. It’s also important to note that Wolverine hasn’t been confirmed for “Avengers: Doomsday” yet. 

Wolverine and Deadpool teaming up could also make sense, as they were in “Deadpool & Wolverine” in 2024. According to Box Office Mojo, the film grossed over $1 billion at the box office, which proves how much moviegoers loved the duo. This also shows the love people have for Reynolds as Deadpool, even when he isn’t paired up with anyone else.

The Upcoming Marvel Movie Has a 2026 Release Date

Fans won’t have long to wait before they know the fate of Reynolds as Deadpool when it comes to “Avengers: Doomsday.” All reports indicate that filming on the upcoming Marvel movie commenced in April 2025. 

According to the official Marvel website, “Avengers: Doomsday” has its release date set for May 1. So far, we know that the cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Romijn, and many other notable actors. Still, there are expected to be more surprises.
