Kim Kardashian’s Derriere Becoming Focus of SNL Skit is Perfectly Timed

Just days after proclaiming herself “Fairy Butt Mother” in a cheeky new SKIMS ad, Kim Kardashian’s well-known asset is getting some special attention in the “Saturday Night Live,” “SNL50: The Anniversary Special” episode.

Kristen Wiig’s Quirky Character Treats Her Bottom Like Bongos

The Maharelle Sisters first appeared in 2008, with Anne Hathaway hosting SNL and appearing as sister Janice. Over the years the sisters from Finger Lakes have appeared as different actors, but Fred Armisen has always played Lawrence Welk, and Kristen Wiig as Dooneese. The skit opens with Lawrence Welk welcoming back Robert Goulet (Will Ferrell) and The Maharelle Sisters: Janice (Scarlett Johannson), Holly (Kim Kardashian), and Margaret (Ana Gasteyer). The sisters introduce themselves before a fourth voice also responds — Dooneese. With her baby doll hands, high forehead, and long canine tooth, Dooneese is the sister the other three unsuccessfully try to ignore.

As the sisters each sing what they’ll be for Goulet, Dooneese touches Johannson and Gasteyer’s faces and chests with her hands, making them visibly uncomfortable. It isn’t long before Dooneese turns her sights on Holly, and begins performing a 20-second drum solo on her bottom. As Holly, Kardashian first feigns surprise but then begins dancing in rhythm to the drumming, a small smile creeping up on her face. Why shouldn’t she smile — the skit inadvertently brought more attention to Kardashian’s new butt-enhancing line of SKIMS bodywear.

She Took Part in a ‘SKIMS for Thick Dogs’ Skit When She Hosted in 2021

Kim Kardashian’s reaction to Kristen Wiig treating her bum like a drum set is another example of the businesswoman and fashion mogul showing that she can laugh at herself. When she hosted SNL in 2021, she gleefully hosted a fake commercial for SKIMS for Thick Dogs. “The only product on the market that will comfortably accentuate your dog’s curves, no matter how thick that butt,” she proclaimed, as Kenan Thompson’s character, D’ennis, came on to show how fabulous his dog, Delicious, looked in her SKIMs bodywear.

“We have a sense of humour,” Kardashian told I-D after hosting “SNL.” “We roast each other as a family all day long. None of us are sensitive to it. I wanted people to see a part of my personality that all my friends know, that everyone close to me knows. But you know, SNL was a completely different audience for me. It was my opportunity. I wanted to show people that this is funny, and this is a big side of my personality too. And it was fun.”
