Kim Kardashian Models New SKIMS Swimwear With Famed ‘Playboy’ Photographer

If there’s anything we’ve learned about Kim Kardashian over the past two decades, she rarely does anything half-way. Furthermore, who can forget that she not only wore Marilyn Monroe’s famous dress for 2022’s history-themed Met Gala but also lost 16 pounds just to fit into it. So it’s no surprise that she — once again — chose a famous photographer for her newest SKIMS line.

The Photos Feel Like Old ‘Playboy’ Without the Nudity

Subsequently, longtime Playboy photographer Ana Dias was a perfect choice.

Dias has been a photographer for “Playboy” for the past decade, capturing the world’s most beautiful women in more than 20 international Playboy editions, including Mexico and Thailand. “In my work, I try to empower women. My models are never just naked bodies,” she said in an interview with “Playboy Germany.” “They are naked women – with sex appeal, personality and depth. Women who are proud to be women and want to powerfully show their sensuality and beauty to the world.”

She’s Collaborated with Renowned Photographers for Past Swimwear Photoshoots

Kardashian knows exactly what style she wants to pursue, and she seeks out photographers that will bring her vision to life. Consequently, in 2023, Kardashian hired Steven Klein for the SKIMS swimwear campaign. The pieces featured rubberized and faux leather bikinis, one-piece swimsuits, skirts, and cover-ups. Klein and Kardashian have worked together several times, including her “Love Magazine” Prada series and as Jackie Kennedy Onassis for “Interview.”

“As a photographer, I am inspired by collaborating with icons,” Klein said in a press release (via WWD). “Icons exert a magnetic pull that allows the viewer to superimpose a dream reality, a kind of hyper existence. Kim speaks this language.”

The following year saw Kardashian collaborate with fashion and photography icon Nick Knight for SKIMS sultry swimwear line, which was meant to pay respect to his sensual photos of the early 2000s, with mesh and snake print. Along with Knight, “ELLE” Stylist Carine Roitfeld styled Kardashian, with the result being “a style reminiscent of his [Knight’s] classic and avant-garde fashion campaigns from the 2000s,” the SKIMS press release stated (via Page Six).
