Outpouring of Grief for Caitlyn Jenner

While social media can be a polarising place, in times of grief, it comes together as a solid force. In the wake of the news, social media users flooded Caitlyn Jenner’s latest post with heartfelt condolences.

Under a pinned post from her L’Équipe magazine cover, one fan wrote, “Caitlyn, im so terribly sorry for the loss of your dear friend, awww I watched her on your show she seemed so lovely, sending love to you ❤️❤️x”

One fan shared: “Sending condolences your way Caitlyn for the loss of your good friend and manager Sophia Hutchins. May the wonderful memories of her bring you comfort during this difficult time.”

“So sorry to hear about the passing of Sophia. Will keep you in my prayers 🙏” wrote the second.

Another well-wisher wrote: “Bruce, i’m sorry about your friend Sophia. i know he’s looking up at us now🤍🙏🏼”

Another fan consoled Caitlyn by sharing, “What a tragic day it’s been, very sad world without that lovely smile here with us. Much love and peace to you Caitlyn.”

From Inspiration to Solid Partnership

Hutchins first credited Caitlyn Jenner as her inspiration for coming out as transgender in college in 2016. The two formed a bond that quickly became both professional and personal.

In 2017, Hutchins moved into Jenner’s Malibu home and took over as her manager, stepping into a role once held by Jenner’s ex-wife, Kris Jenner, following their 2015 divorce.

She was also a frequent presence on “I Am Cait,” the docuseries following Jenner’s gender transition. Despite living together, Hutchins made it clear in a 2019 New York Times interview: “Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship.”

Sophia’s Close Ties to the Kardashian-Jenner Family

Hutchins maintained strong ties with the broader Kardashian-Jenner clan, especially with Kris, Kim, Kylie, and Kendall.

She once shared that Kylie and Kendall gifted her a heart-shaped diamond necklace for Christmas. “I’m on good terms with all the family, but I’m closest with Kris, Kim, Kylie, and Kendall,” Hutchins said.

In 2020, she even modeled for Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS in a digital campaign.

Hutchins last appeared publicly with Jenner at the 2024 White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C. Like Caitlyn, she was an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump and the MAGA movement.

Caitlyn Jenner was seen putting on a brave face as she waved to photographers before returning to her $3.5 million Malibu home on 4th July, according to the Daily Mail.

When approached for comment, the reality star said quietly, “I don’t want to talk” about the tragic incident. As of now, no members of the Kardashian-Jenner family have made any public statements.
