What Scares Jenny Marrs

Jenny Marrs Has a Fear That’s Tough for a Builder to Work With

We’ve seen her freak out on a mountain road in Italy, but now we know about another thing that scares Jenny Marrs.

In a new video posted to HGTV’s Instagram account, Jenny and husband Dave Marrs are building an elaborate play house for a “Fixer to Fabulous” client. Dave is adding cedar shingles when he tries to hand the nail gun to Jenny.

“What if it accidentally shoots back into my eye?” asks Jenny, even though she’s wearing safety glasses, which Dave points out. “I don’t like nail guns, I don’t like nerf guns, anything that could puncture my eyeball,” Jenny tells the camera.

The video then shows Jenny conquering her fear, but not without pulling some distressed faces. “She also stays away from forks,” jokes husband Dave.

One thing she’s not afraid of? A good practical joke. At the end of the video, Jenny locks Dave and his brother inside the playhouse.

Jenny Marrs Isn’t Afraid of a Little Fun

Another thing Marrs is NOT afraid of is getting her hands dirty in the garden. Or having a little messy fun with the couple’s five children.

In a March 25 Instagram post, Jenny and her youngest son, 5-year-old Luke, are in the garden when Luke begins to chase Jenny with the water hose. Jenny eventually extracts her revenge, turning the tables on the prankster.

Clearly there were no hard feelings on either side. The family of five recently had a feathery encounter on their spring break trip, when Jenny found a way to indulge Luke’s love of penguins.

In an Instagram post showing the kids interacting up close with penguins, Jenny writes, “When your childhood friend knows the penguin caretaker and you had the opportunity to let biggest penguin-loving kid pet his favorite animal (and you all fall for these adorable little creatures 😍) … spring break highlight ✨!!!” In the video, Luke is wearing a t-shirt that reads “I Just Really Like Penguins OK?”

Marrs Kids Appearing Less & Less on ‘Fixer to Fabulous’

The five Marrs kids were also featured in a March 17 Instagram post by Marrs on Main, Dave and Jenny’s new retail location in Bentonville, Arkansas. The store’s grand opening is Friday, April 4.

But while Jenny writes that 14-year-old twins Nathan and Ben, 12-year-old daughter Sylvie, 10-year-old daughter Charlotte, and 5-year-old son Luke are all excited about the new store, they’re less and less excited about appearing on “Fixer to Fabulous.”

In an Instagram post in January, Jenny wrote, “Now that the kids are getting older, they really don’t want to be on camera very often. (And it’s always been up to them – they can participate or not – and naturally some of our kiddos are much more camera shy than others) but they’re typically right there behind the camera lens most days (unless they’re at basketball practice or soccer or art camp or horseback riding… 🤪).”
