With a new era of HGTV’s hit series “Love It or List It” set to debut on April 21, 2025, the show’s longtime star Hilary Farr decided to take fans for one last ride down memory lane.
The designer posted a retrospective video to social media late on March 24, filled with behind-the-scenes photos of her and co-star David Visentin over the years. The duo starred in 258 episodes of “Love It or List It” from 2008 until Farr announced her departure from the series in December 2023.
Farr, 73, captioned her video with a four-word message: “Thanks for the memories!” An hour after she posted, Visentin responded, “I enjoyed every minute ❤️”
Thousands of Fans Flooded Hilary Farr’s Post With ‘Likes’ & Comments
Farr’s retrospective video was posted a week after HGTV announced that the 20th season of “Love It or List It,” starring Visentin and Farr’s replacement, longtime HGTV personality Page Turner, will premiere on April 21. Many fans have expressed excitement about seeing how Turner fits into the mix.
But Farr’s video also reminded viewers how much she’ll be missed. By morning, her Instagram post had over 20,000 likes and over 1,200 comments from fans sharing their gratitude for the years she spent on the show.
“Ohhh I love this Hillary it was a joy watching you both through the years,” one fan wrote. “Thank you for all the episodes all the laughs and the beautiful kitchens. We will never forget you 💗”
Another commented, “Thank you both! 🙌👏❤️ You will be missed Hillary! 😢 Many positive vibes for your future projects/life adventures! 🙂🤍✨”
Someone else chimed in, “Thank you for all the joy you brought to so many!”
Others seemed to be learning for the first time that Farr is not returning to the show, reflecting in one comment liked by over 230 fans that said, “NOOOOOOOOOO. I love this show and you both work so well together. Will miss you all.”
Among fans who will miss Farr is Turner herself, who was an avid viewer for years and never imagined she’d wind up on the series. She told Blavity, “I still get emotional every time I stop and think, ‘Wait, Page, YOU are the new co-host of ‘Love It or List It!’ This is a show I’ve watched religiously for years, long before I was ever part of the network!”
Hilary Farr Decided to Retire From ‘Love It or List It’ in 2023

In December 2023, an HGTV press release announced Farr was leaving “Love It or List It” after 19 seasons. In the statement, she said, “It’s been a wonderful 12 years. I’m so grateful to the network for their support and to my fans who have stayed loyal and true. David and I will remain friends forever and I expect him to be as fabulously and hilariously annoying as ever.”
The interior designer also told People of the hit series, “I’ve given it so many years of my life. It’s got me through hard times. It’s got the audiences through hard times. It has evolved into a mainstay of people’s lives and it’s been incredibly gratifying. But now it’s time for me to move on and meet new challenges.”
Farr told the outlet she’d decided nearly a year before the announcement that her time with the show was done, but Visentin and their production team didn’t believe her. When they later approached her about filming a 20th season, she told People, she put her foot down and said, “With all the love in the world, the answer was no. It’s just time.”
Her other show, “Tough Love,” does not appear to be returning after two seasons either.
As HGTV spent the last year deciding on Farr’s replacement and filming the eight-episode 20th season with Visentin and Turner, Farr has made periodic appearances at design and art functions, used social media to support her favorite causes — including helping her granddaughter CiCi sell Girl Scout cookies — and relished downtime with her pets, dog Suki and Puff the cat.
