What’s Next for Tarek El Moussa: Major HGTV Update

Longtime HGTV star Tarek El Moussa keeps adding to his already very full plate.

The real estate investor just wrapped the freshman season of “The Flip Off” — co-starring his ex-wife, Christina Haack, and his second wife, Heather Rae El Moussa — with the finale airing on March 5, 2025. Meanwhile, the second season of “The Flipping El Moussas,” which also features Heather, has just two episodes remaining.

After the dust has settled on those two series, Tarek is ready to fly solo again. On March 6, HGTV announced that a third season of Tarek’s solo show, “Flipping 101,” will premiere on April 3.

Tarek El Moussa Has Flipped Nearly 1,000 Houses, Per HGTV

The third season of “Flipping 101” will have 11 episodes airing on Thursday nights, HGTV said in a press release. With nearly 1,000 house flips under his belt, El Moussa will teach rookie renovators how to make money while avoiding the pitfalls often made by first-time home flippers.

In the April 3 premiere, Tarek will work with Dan, a young investor who’s eager to learn how to flip houses after buying a four bedroom, three bath home in La Mirada, California. The renovation gets off to a rocky start, according to HGTV, when El Moussa quickly discovers the property only has three legal bedrooms, not four. In addition, Dan gravely underestimates his budget and struggles to get his contractors to respect his instructions.

Despite the challenges, Tarek works with Dan in the premiere episode to help him achieve a “big payday,” per HGTV, during “one of the shakiest real estate markets in recent history.”

Tarek El Moussa Has Been Flipping Houses on HGTV for a Dozen Years

Though many fans expressed they’d also like to see another season of “The Flip Off,” most were happy to see that “Flipping 101” will return, too.

One fan wrote on Instagram, “I’ve been watching since day 1! Time has flown”

Another commented, “Awesome ! Can’t get enough of your shows”

“Flipping 101” first aired in 2020 with half-hour episodes, per Deadline, but in 2021, HGTV expanded the 12-episode second season to an hour each. A third season debuted in May 2023, per Country Living, but there were no announcements about the show in 2024.

Tarek has been flipping houses on HGTV since he and Haack, who married in 2009, convinced the network to take a chance on them in 2011, sending the network a home video of them flipping one of their first houses, per Realtor.com. The pilot of their show did so well, they found themselves starring in their own series by 2013.

Their personal lives crumbled in the midst of their professional success, though, and the couple formally divorced in 2018. They continued to film “Flip or Flop” until 2022. Haack has since gone solo, too, with her HGTV shows “Christina on the Coast” and “Christina in the Country,” which aired its second and final season in 2024.

Tarek and Heather married in 2021 and the season finale of their show, “The Flipping El Moussas,” is scheduled to air on March 13. She has also appeared periodically on “Flipping 101,” given her background in real estate.

The fourth season of “Flipping 101” premieres on April 3 at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
