Tarek El Moussa Shares His ‘Favorite Thing’ to Do With His 2-Year-Old Son

HGTV star Tarek El Moussa is opening about his relationship with his youngest son, Tristan, 2, who he shares with his wife Heather Rae El Moussa.

During an April 2025 interview with Page Six, Tarek El Moussa noted that his son recently turned two. He said while parenting a toddler “is a ton of work,” he and his wife are “having a lot of fun” with their son. Tarek El Moussa also shared how he and Tristan enjoy spending time together.

“My favorite thing with him right now, he’s two years old. He’s barely learning how to talk. A little bit. And every morning I walk downstairs, he’ll see me. And the first thing he says is ‘hi-ya.’ And then he runs to the mat, and he goes, ‘Jiujitsu.’ And then we wrestle,” said Tarek El Moussa to the publication.

He also said that his son “loves monster trucks.”

“So we watch monster trucks together,” said Tarek El Moussa during the Page Six interview.

Heather Rae El Moussa Shared Her Morning Routine With Her Son

Heather Rae El Moussa shared her morning routine with Tristan in a March 17 Instagram upload. In the video, she showed that she and her son do a brief workout, practice yoga, drink smoothies, play with toys, go on a walk, and snuggle in the morning.

“My mornings with my mini man are everything. 🤍 We fit so much in to such little time.. toddler mamas, how are we doing? 😂💕,” wrote Heather Rae El Moussa in the caption.

Tarek El Moussa took to the post’s comments section, writing, “❤️.”

The El Moussas Disagree About Having More Children

While recording a March 2025 episode of the “Scrubbing In with Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad” podcast, Heather Rae El Moussa shared that she would like to have more children. She said, however, that her husband does not want to expand their family. While Heather Rae El Moussa only has one child, her husband shares two children, Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, with his ex-wife, Christina Haack.

“[Tristan] is the light of my life. It makes me so happy. I’m like, ‘How could I not want more?’ But my husband is very much done. So we’re very different in what we want in our future. So that’s hard,” said Heather Rae El Moussa on the podcast episode.

She also shared that she and her husband have discussed having more children during couple’s therapy.

During his April 2025 Page Six interview, Tarek El Moussa explained why he does not want more children. The 44-year-old said he is “starting to get older” and is “very busy with work.” He also said he does not want to take away any attention from Taylor, Brayden, and Tristan.

“I love my kids so much. It’s literally my favorite thing about life. But it takes a lot of time, effort, energy. And what’s important to me is making sure that not only can I be an entrepreneur, a TV personality, but even more important, I want to be a good dad. And I sometimes worry if I spread myself even more thin, it’s going to take away from me being the best dad I can be,” said Tarek El Moussa to Page Six.
