Tarek El Moussa is opening up about filming with his ex-wife, Christina Haack, for their upcoming HGTV show, “The Flip Off,” which begins airing on January 29.
During a January 2025 interview with Us Weekly, alongside his wife Heather Rae El Moussa, Tarek El Moussa was asked if he had “any apprehension when it came to filming with” Haack again, whom he divorced in 2018. The former couple previously filmed “Flip or Flop” together.
He replied he was concerned that his wife and Haack would team up together during the upcoming competition series.
“My only fear and worry was that they would be that they would team up against me — which they did!” said Tarek El Moussa to the publication.
Tarek El Moussa also said he was “a little bit” concerned about co-starring with Haack again as it could have affected their friendship following their breakup.
“The last couple of years, we’ve been in a really good place. We’re co-parenting. We’re friendly. We’ve been getting along. And it took us almost 10 years to get there,” said Tarek El Moussa during the interview.
He said while “there were some reservations at times” about “The Flip Off,” him and his ex-wife ended up realizing “it’s just daily business” when filming together for HGTV.
Tarek El Moussa Said He Was Not Worried About Heather Rae El Moussa & Christina Haack Getting Along
During the Us Weekly interview, Tarek El Moussa said he was not worried about Haack and his wife potentially “cat fighting,” as they have a good relationship. Heather Rae El Moussa confirmed that she gets along with Haack, the mother of Tarek El Moussa’s eldest children, Taylor and Brayden.
“Her and I don’t fight each other. We don’t pick on each other,” said Heather Rae El Moussa.
Christina Haack Spoke About Filming ‘The Flip Off’
Haack spoke about filming “The Flip Off” with her ex-husband and his wife during a January 2025 interview on Bravo personality Jeff Lewis‘ podcast, “Jeff Lewis Has Issues.” She noted that her now-estranged husband, Josh Hall, filmed a few episodes of the upcoming series until their July 2024 split.
“It was supposed to be Tarek and his wife Heather and me and my ex-husband, Josh. We started filming, we only filmed together three times, I think. And then we split up. But the show must go on. And the show was so much better without him,” said Haack to Lewis.
Haack made similar comments about co-starring with Hall in a November 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight. She said she did not have fun being Hall’s competition partner on “The Flip Off.”
“I did not enjoy filming with him. So having split up made this so much easier and so much better in every, every way. The show would have been hard to film,” said Haack to Entertainment Tonight.
