HGTV star Taniya Nayak is sharing her secret to get through the holiday season. The “Battle on the Beach” showed off her Christmas decor in an Instagram post on November 24, where she also plugged the new season of her ABC series, “The Great Christmas Light Fight”.
“I don’t know how you do it all,” one fan commented, referring to Nayak’s beautiful decorations, which she managed to pull off despite her busy work schedule.
“Tequila helps! 😂 ❤️,” Nayak responded.
Taniya Nayak is in the Christmas Spirit
Nayak confirmed in her post’s caption that she’s been in the holiday spirit for a while before decorating her house, thanks to her “Great Christmas Light Fight” work.
“I’m seeing a lot of holiday decorations go up,” Nayak explained. “I’ve been riding the Christmas train all across the country for about a month now while filming @thegreatchristmaslightfight (premieres Dec 5!) so I’m happy I was able to get my decor up on a quick visit back home. I managed to unpack, do laundry, put up the decorations, and repack all in a blink of an eye! I went for simple elegance this year because I’ve been getting OVER THE TOP displays that are next level while filming the show! Can’t wait for you to see these luminated masterpieces!”
Nayak is set to serve as a judge in the new season, and will be awarding a $50,000 prize to one of three families in the second episode of the new season, which will air on premiere night, Thursday, December 5, at 9 p.m. Eastern.
Each episode of “The Great Christmas Light Fight” sees three families compete to pull off the best Christmas light display, with the judges basing their decision on three categories: use of lights, overall design, and Christmas spirit.

Here are a few of my fave hosting hacks to take the stress out of it all,” Nayak wrote in her caption before suggesting things including, “Create a self serve buffet so you can enjoy the party and mingle,” “Use scented candles to set the mood and the vibe,” and “Set the table, decorate the tree, pull out the platters, and hang up those wreaths well in advance.
