Sarah Baeumler Shares ‘Heavy Heart’ As Oldest Daughter Starts College

Sarah Baeumler is sharing a heartfelt message of pride mixed with sadness as she drops her oldest daughter Charlotte off at college.

18-year-old Charlotte Baeumler is attending High Point University in High Point, North Carolina. The school has a student body of about 6,300 and is ranked the “Best Run College in the Nation” by the Princeton Review.

It’s also about a twelve-and-a-half hour drive from the Baeumeler’s home in south Florida.

And that puts it even further from their second home in the Bahamas at their resort featured on the HGTV show “Renovation Island,” called Cerula Mar.

Considering that Baeumlers just revealed their upcoming HGTV show, “Building Baeumler” will expand that resort, it’s safe to say they’ll be spending plenty of time there.

Sarah Baeumler Posts Video of Daughter’s Move-In Day at College

Sarah Baeumler posted a video on her Instagram account giving fans a look at Charlotte’s new home away from home.

The video shows the beautiful High Point Unversity campus, and pans to Bryan in the driver’s seat as they haul Charlotte’s belongings all the way from South Florida.

Sarah takes followers into Charlotte’s dorm and even her apartment itself.

It’s far from the luxury of the Baeumler’s Florida home or bungalow at Cerula Mar.

Instead, it’s carpet squares and a vinyl couch similar to what new college students across the country are experiencing right now.

Sarah Baeumler Pens Emotional Message to Oldest Daughter

Sarah Baeumler set the Instagram video to country artist Dylan Scott’s “The Good Times Go By Too Fast.”

The chorus says, “Yeah, I wish time would tick a little slower
Sometimes it feels like I blink and then it’s over
Better soak it in, better make it last
Live it up while we can ’cause the good times go by too fast”

Sarah expresses a similar sentiment in the caption of her post, writing, “Today we hugged Charlotte tight and said one last goodbye as she begins her new chapter at High Point University. I don’t think anything quite prepares you for this moment as a parent – the joy of watching your child step into their future, mixed with the heartache of letting them go.”

Sarah goes on, “For years we’ve watched her grow, stumble, get back up, laugh, and discover who she is. Now she carries all those lessons, memories, and pieces of home with her as she builds a life of her own. It’s a reminder that parenting is a constant struggle between holding on and learning when to release, trusting that we’ve given her the roots and wings she needs.”

Then she addresses her daughter directly, writing, “Charlotte, I am so proud of your courage, your curiosity, and the heart you bring to everything you do. High Point is lucky to have you, and I know you’re going to shine in this new adventure. Though my heart feels a little heavier today, and I’ve shed many tears as I watched you walk away, I’m also overflowing with pride and gratitude. Here’s to your next chapter – we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. 💜✨”
