Michel Smith Boyd Breaks Silence After ‘Rock the Block’ Win: Are He & Alison Victoria Okay?

Four nights after winning the sixth season of HGTV’s hit show “Rock the Block” with teammate Alison Victoria, designer Michel Smith Boyd opened up about his history-making victory. But his post and Victoria’s continued silence have many fans curious about possible drama between the duo.

Having also won season four with teammate Anthony Elle in 2023, Boyd became the first person to win two seasons of the competition series. On May 29, 2025, Boyd wrote in a celebratory Instagram post, “Monday night marked a milestone in HGTV history! Competing on #RocktheBlock is an incredible honor—one that demands full commitment from every designer. The invitation means you’re already among the best, but make no mistake, it will test you.”

The win was emotional for both Boyd and Victoria, who cried over finally winning in her third time competing on the show. But many viewers noticed there was no footage of the duo hugging or celebrating together. Since the May 26 finale, social media buzz about a possible rift between Boyd and Victoria has only grown, and neither has tried to dispel those rumors online.

Michel Smith Boyd Says He’s ‘Still Learning & Evolving’ After ‘Rock the Block’ Win

The sixth season of “Rock the Block” pitted four duos of HGTV stars — Boyd and Victoria, Jonathan and Jordan KnightTristyn and Kamohai Kalama, and Chelesa and Cole DeBoer — as they designed and transformed brand-new, identical houses over six weeks in a suburb of Salt Lake City. In the end, Boyd and Victoria’s home was deemed by three independent appraisers to have the most added value.

HGTV waited until May 28, 2025, to announce the winners on social media, so as not to spoil the finale results for viewers who hadn’t watched yet. Boyd followed suit, waiting till then to share HGTV’s clips and his reflections on winning again.

“True champions welcome the pressure because they see challenges as a path to growth,” Boyd wrote in his post. “Becoming a two-time champion requires more than talent—it takes self-mastery, emotional control, and a clear sense of purpose. I’m still learning and evolving, always mindful that I represent something greater than myself. Thank you for tuning in, cheering us on, and celebrating the journey. Most of all, I hope you had as much fun watching as we did creating. We did it! 💛”

Although he didn’t mention Victoria by name, Boyd posted multiple photos and video clips of them from the show, including a snippet that aired at the start of season six in which he said, “I’m back to take a second win and help my girl here get her first.”

Meanwhile, Victoria launched her new podcast the morning after the finale with a flurry of social media posts, but she had still not commented or posted on social media about her and Boyd’s “Rock the Block” win by midday on May 29.

In an interview with HGTV.com after winning the season, which wrapped filming in November, Victoria did admit, “This was a tough one. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through in my life as a designer on television.”

Fans Continue to Press for Answers on Possible ‘Rock the Block’ Rift & When Michel Smith Boyd Will Have His Own HGTV Show Again

When fans continued to point out the possible drama between Boyd and Victoria on his victory post, he acknowledged many of those comments with a telling emoji or brief response, and did not deny a rift.

The designer replied with a prayer hands emoji when one fan wrote, “You are so incredibly talented kind and brilliant! I was happy to watch you again! I just wish you and Allison got along. It’s evident she sidelined you and I’m sorry to see that”

When another fan commented, “It looked like Alison & Michel weren’t too friendly with each other the last half of the season – they didn’t even look at each other when they won,” Boyd pointedly replied, “when they won.”

Boyd also liked a comment that said, “Congratulations Michel, you’re a class act! WTH with Alison, she showed no emotions with you. Hated that!!”

The comment section of Boyd’s post was also flooded with requests for HGTV to give Boyd his own show again, since “Luxe For Less” was never officially renewed after airing in 2022 and 2023.

Boyd liked one person’s comment that said, “Okay 2 time champ🔥🔥🔥🔥HGTV needs to recognize and give you your own show!!!! Congratulations! #representationmatters🔥🔥🔥🔥”

He also responded with an exclamation point to multiple other comments, including one that said “Give this king his show back! #LuxeforLess @hgtv,” another that declared, “CONGRATULATIONS! Now @hgtv bring back Luxe for Less, please,” and when someone else wrote, “So….two wins….where is the show????? I assume you are part of this decision but seriously, we want some more of that Michel magic!! 💙💙💙💙”

At the time of publication, HGTV had not announced any new shows with Boyd. Victoria has been busy filming the first season of her new HGTV spinoff in Las Vegas, “Sin City Rehab,” expected to premiere sometime in 2025. Meanwhile, “Rock the Block” season six can be streamed on Max.
