Nicole Curtis Explains Her ‘Rehab Addict’ Return on HGTV: ‘Come Home’

In June 2025, Nicole Curtis returned to HGTV with her home restoration show “Rehab Addict.” Curtis shares how the network was happy to have her back, telling her to “come home” after her three year absence.

Nicole Curtis Shares Story of ‘Rehab Addict’ Comeback

In a June 2025 interview with OK! magazine, Curtis shared what prompted her return to TV.

“We ended our last episode in 2022. At the time, I was like, ‘I am good for now,’ and I thought I would produce other shows,” she explained. “We developed our new production company and then I found this little house in Wyoming, and I just had to have it!”

That little house started the ball rolling — and HGTV was happy to have her back.

The “Rehab Addict” star explained, “I was like, ‘Wow, this is a great example of what you shouldn’t do!’ The joke was that we’re going to unflip the flip.”

Curtis added, “When we first developed the show, we didn’t know where it was going to land. It was my production company, but HGTV got right on it and was like, ‘We’ll take it back. We want it back, come home.'”

Nicole Curtis Addresses People Who Claim Her Show is ‘Fake’

Curtis noted that she was determined to have people see her journey. “This show has been three years in development. If we didn’t end up doing this show, I would have ended up putting this journey on Facebook Live,” she explained.

She added, “It was important that fans could keep up with what I’m doing because they’ve supported us from day one.”

The HGTV star called the return “so amazing,” noting, “It’s my production company and my shows — and that’s really important to me. I’m not just some person on TV.”

As for people who don’t think she really does all the work, Curtis welcomes them to stop by and see her in action.

“When we started, people would say it was fake. They were like, ‘This tiny blonde can’t be doing this!’ I’d be like, come to the address and drop in,” Curtis said. “I want people to see I work on these houses without cameras. It was important for people to know I wasn’t made for TV.”

She added, “I’ve always been this authentic chick from Detroit. I have a teaching degree, I used to have a pickup truck, two dogs and kids. I was supporting us by taking these old homes that nobody else wanted.”
