Nicole Curtis Reveals ‘Life-Altering Experience’ Led to ‘Rehab Addict’ Comeback

Nicole Curtis is coming back to HGTV after being away far too long, with the new season of “Rehab Addict” airing in June 2025. Curtis shared the wild story behind her surprising comeback that started after a “life-altering experience.”

Nicole Curtis Shares Circumstances That Brought Her Back to HGTV

On June 4, Curtis took to Instagram to explain how her HGTV comeback happened.

“I didn’t, exactly, make this clear, but I’ll be back on HGTV June 24th ❤️,” she wrote in the caption accompanying a selfie of her with the Eiffel Tower behind her.

She continued, “Background: July 16, 2022 — Paris. That’s how this New Season of ‘Rehab Addict’ came about.”

Curtis explained, “After a life-altering experience, 3 weeks of a combo of bed rest & absolute depths of misery, I felt halfway decent. It was 6 pm in Detroit & I booked a flight to Corfu (departing at 7:30). Long story short, mad dash to airports. Realized I left my wallet at home as I was in the air. Landed in Paris (had a 1 day layover) & in just my ratty running outfit and $100 decided to make the most of it.”

The HGTV star noted, “I ran the Eiffel Tower, biked the Champs Elysees, took myself to a fancy dinner (after a Western union from Josh) and BOUGHT a house in Wyoming. Couldn’t make that up, if I tried. Well, I overslept, missed the Onr flight to Corfu.”

Curtis said she then flew to JFK and Salt Lake City, then drove to Wyoming. “Call it whatever you want, just one of those moments where I thought, ‘I need a change.’ The rest is history🥳.”

She added, “Big love to everyone who followed along.” Curtis also noted that it’s “been a journey and these episodes are all mine” and asked, “You ready?”

Nicole Curtis Clears Up Hot Debate

On June 2, Curtis shared a photo of herself on Instagram and set the record straight on a few things.

“You know me — ‘America’s Sweetheart’ ☠️❤️ aka your ‘worst nightmare’ if you tear down old houses, paint woodwork, smash out original bathrooms, rip out original hardwood,” she wrote in the caption.

Curtis noted, “No sugarcoating. Leave the old stuff for the people who respect old stuff.”

She also cleared up a debate over her hair and shared that vanity doesn’t factor into her role as a TV personality.

“Also, because this seems to be a new internet argument — it’s my hair, no extensions,” she explained. “I build in the same shorts I’ve had since season 3 — trust me, appearance not my thing, I’ve got a team of fabulous men who wrangle me into the salon and make me put my hair down.”
