Across social media, HGTV fans are asking the same question: “Where is Hilary?” Many longtime “Love It or List It” viewers clearly didn’t get the memo that interior designer has left the long-running show.
On March 18, 2025, the network announced that the popular series’ will return on April 21 with David Visentin and his new co-star, Page Turner. Though Farr made headlines when she announced her retirement in December 2023, many fans were shocked to see she’s not returning for the 20th season. But others are excited for a fresh start with Turner.
Hilary Farr Said She Left ‘Love It or List It’ Because She Was Getting ‘Bored’
As soon as HGTV posted a photo of Visentin and former “Fix My Flip” star Turner, its social media accounts were flooded with the same question: “Where is Hilary?”
“Where is Hilary,” one fan asked on Facebook. “It won’t be the same.”
On X, formerly known as Twitter, another fan responded, “Who is she? WHERE IS HILARY??? #loveitorlistit”
The same question bubbled up on Instagram, including from someone who wrote, “Where’s Hillary? Love this show!!! David is the best”
So, where is Hilary? After co-starring with Visentin in 258 episodes of “Love It or List It” since 2008, the beloved interior designer announced her departure in December 2023.
In an HGTV press release about her decision, Farr said, “It’s been a wonderful 12 years. I’m so grateful to the network for their support and to my fans who have stayed loyal and true. David and I will remain friends forever and I expect him to be as fabulously and hilariously annoying as ever.”
She later told Vulture, “It was becoming boring and I don’t want to be bored.”
David Visentin Says He Won’t ‘Go Easy’ on ‘Love It or List It’ Newcomer Page Turner
The new season will likely be far from boring as Visentin and Turner playfully butt heads. Filmed in Toronto, the eight-episode season follows the same premise as before; Visentin will try to find the perfect new home for their clients and Turner will renovate their existing home, hoping they’ll choose to “love it” rather than “list it.”
In a sneak peek of their first interaction on the show, provided exclusively to People, Turner gets into Visentin’s car and after they exchange pleasantries, he smiles, “So…the journey begins!”
Wondering whether he’ll have to drive her around like he did with Farr, he tells Turner, “It’s not a problem, I just thought, you know, things might be a little different.”
“Well I’m here, and that is different,” Turner quips, and he replies, “Absolutely. But don’t expect me to make it easy on you.”
“Um, David, I have hundreds of flips and renovations under my belt,” Turner asserts, “and I’m not afraid to say that I know a thing or two about real estate.”
Though the new duo will be fierce competitors on the series, they also seem genuinely happy to be working together. On March 18, Visentin shared HGTV’s post in his Instagram Stories and wrote, “Good times ahead!”
Meanwhile, Turner was full of praise for Visentin after HGTV first announced her addition to “Love It or List It” in February, telling Blavity, “Not only is he one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, but he’s also a sharp, quick-witted competitor who really knows how to connect with the opposing homeowners and tap into their wants and needs,” she said. “And let’s be honest, I love a good challenge! I’m truly honored to step into such an iconic, beloved show as co-host and designer.”
The new season of “Love It or List It” premieres on April 21 at 10 p.m. Eastern time.
