When HGTV asked its biggest stars to share their favorite holiday traditions for a social media video montage, Leslie Davis of “Unsellable Houses” admitted hers is “pretty insane.” Her twin sister and co-star Lyndsay Lamb couldn’t agree more.
“Since the day my first son was born 20 years ago, we have bought a Christmas blow-up inflatable for our yard,” Davis said in the video posted on December 20, 2024.
Shaking her head, Lamb quipped, “Drives me crazy.”
Leslie Davis Says Christmas Inflatables Bring Her Family ‘So Much Joy’
Davis shares three sons — Kyler, Cash, and Cole — with her husband Jacob, who was her high school sweetheart. Their tradition of purchasing inflatables every year since Kyler’s birth has become quite the spectacle, she told HGTV.
“It’s pretty insane,” Davis acknowledged. “Nothing that Lyndsay would ever allow at her house. But my front yard is full of about almost 30 inflatables, because we buy a couple extra every year.”
On November 25, Davis shared photos in her Instagram Stories as they inflated and placed the giant blow-up decorations on their large yard in Washington state. The giant inflatables include a replica of Ralphie in a bunny suit from “A Christmas Story,” a holiday train and assortment of Santas.
Over one of the photos Davis posted, she wrote “We purchase one new inflatable for our yard every year!!!! Yes, it’s a little tacky, but it brings us so much joy when we drive home in the dark winter months!!!!”
Her sister isn’t the only one, though, who can’t get on board with the tradition. Ben and Erin Napier told Country Living in early December that they will never purchase a Christmas inflatable.
Ben told the outlet, “Not for us. We are anti.”
Erin then added, “I’m sorry, because our kids think they’re fun, but it just doesn’t look right with our house. I think they look right with a brand-new house, but ours is very, very old.”
Other HGTV Stars Shared Their Favorite Traditions, From Nutcrackers to Caroling
In the same video in which Davis shared that the yard inflatables are her favorite holiday tradition, other HGTV stars shared theirs.
Jasmine Roth of “Help! I Wrecked My House” said that she “married into a nutcracker collection,” belonging to her husband Brett. In a separate video, Roth said she’s grown to love the collection and figuring out where all of the nutcracker statues will go each year.
Ben Napier said he loves piling into the car with Erin and their two girls — Helen, 6, and Mae, 3 — to drive around and look at Christmas lights “multiple times” during the holiday season.
“Property Brothers” stars Drew and Jonathan Scott said they grew up going Christmas caroling at neighbors’ and friends’ houses every year and still keep up the tradition.
“Married to Real Estate” star Egypt Sherrod said her husband Mike Jackson’s family hides their presents for each other around the house on Christmas Eve. So after everyone scatters looking for their gifts, she laughed saying that the house is already “a mess” by Christmas morning.
