Jonathan Scott’s status as an HGTV hunk earned him coveted invitations to celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Saturday Night Live,” including NBC’s three-hour, star-studded “SNL50” special that aired live on February 16, 2025.
Scott attended the weekend’s festivities — including Chris Rock’s 60th birthday party — with his fiancée, actress Zooey Deschanel, who hosted ‘SNL’ in 2012. In an Instagram post, Jonathan relished being “made fun of” many times by the legendary sketch comedy show, posting a montage of “SNL” skits about or featuring him and Drew Scott, his real-life twin and “Property Brothers” co-star.

Before the February 16 live show, Scott and Deschanel were captured having fun on the red carpet by outlets including E! News, Vogue, and Getty Images. Scott stepped out of the way to ensure photographers got pics of his longtime love dressed in Patou, her go-to designer.
At the end of the three-hour show, Scott posted two Instagram Stories, snuggling in their balcony seats at 30 Rock. His videos showed all the comedy and music legends who’d appeared on the special, gathered onstage to bid the audience farewell. Over one, Scott wrote “about last night” and on the other, he posted a GIF that said “Legendary.”
The night before, on February 15, Scott was spotted in a photo that original cast member Chevy Chase posted on Instagram from the 60th birthday party of fellow ‘SNL’ legend Chris Rock.
The star-studded party was held at The Crane Club, and the photo with Scott and Chase also included actor Josh Gad and comedian Alex Edelman. In addition to dozens of ‘SNL’ alums, attendees included Madonna, Kim Kardashian, Jerry Seinfeld, Miles Teller, per People.
Jonathan Scott Says ‘It’s an Honor’ to Be Spoofed by ‘SNL’
Ahead of the three-hour special on February 16, Scott posted a montage of ‘SNL’ clips that he and his brother have been featured in over the years, writing, “It’s an honor to be made fun of by such an institution 😂 Thanks #snl”
The montage started with their 2023 surprise cameos on the show, when they appeared alongside skateboarding guru Tony Hawk as the supposed judges of the “Miss Universe” pageant.
The video also included brief clips of the 2022 “SNL” skit called “The Looker,” with Amy Schumer playing a woman obsessed with the “Property Brothers,” and the 2017 parody “The Fliplets” starring cast members Mikey Day and Alex Moffat with guest host Ryan Gosling.
Another featured clip in the montage was from the 2018 skit “Incest Twins,” starring Day and Moffat again, interviewed by guest host Liev Schreiber. Yet another skit included in the “Property Brothers” collection of spoofs was 2022’s “Dream Cousins,” which featured Day again, but this time with guest host Jake Gyllenhaal.
Amidst all the parodies and spoofs, the “Property Brothers” are still going strong on HGTV. A new season of “Celebrity IOU” debuted on February 3 (airing Monday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern time) and HGTV just announced a new series with the twins called “Catching the West” slated for summer 2025.
