Jonathan Scott Posted a Birthday Tribute to Zooey Deschanel

The “Property Brothers” star took to Instagram on January 17 with a post celebrating Deschanel’s birthday.

“There are moments in life that test you and try to break you. But there are people who make you stronger and fill you with purpose and passion. That person for me is you @zooeydeschanel,” Scott wrote in the caption accompanying a photo of the couple smiling together.

He added, “Seems like a strange time to celebrate anything … but you are my beacon of hope and you deserve to be celebrated. I love you #HappyBirthday 🥰.”

For her birthday last year, Scott shared a collage-style video on Instagram to honor his fiancee. “Happy birthday @zooeydeschanel,” he wrote in the 2024 caption. “Something tells me that this will be the best year yet! 😉🥰.”

Deschanel posted a look at how she celebrated her 2024 birthday with Scott — and a glass of wine. “This triple Capricorn thanks you for all the birthday wishes 🩷🩷,” she wrote. Scott responded, “Oh we’ve got some birthday surprises for YOU! 🥰”

Jonathan Scott Shared an Update on Their Wedding Plans

Scott and Deschanel got engaged in August 2023, but have yet to set a date to tie the knot. With their busy schedules, planning a wedding hasn’t exactly been in the cards, according to Scott.

In a January 2025 interview with People magazine, the HGTV star joked, “I can guarantee you we have done absolutely 0% more work.”

He explained, “We’ve just had a lot of things going on. Maybe that’ll be my New Year’s resolution — we’ve got to get this wedding figured out.”

In May 2024, he told People magazine that they want to have a small wedding. “We know that the most important thing for us is to be surrounded by our loved ones,” Scott said. “And we’re not planning to do a crazy, extravagant wedding. It’s going to be pretty intimate.”

Scott and Deschanel met while filming an episode of “Carpool Karaoke” in 2019. During a 2022 interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Deschanel spoke about Scott. “I couldn’t believe he was so nice,” she said about him.

Deschanel shared at the time, “We’ve been together for over three years and he’s still that nice. He like goes over and fixes stuff at my parents’ house. He’s so nice.”
