Jonathan Knight’s Business Partner Explains Absence on ‘Rock the Block’

The competition is heating up on “Rock the Block,” but with the exception of a surprise appearance in episode four, “Farmhouse Fixer” star Jonathan Knight has had to soldier on without his usual sidekick, Kristina Crestin.

And now we know why.

In an Instagram post, Kristina Crestin shows a picture from her guest appearance helping Jonathan when he’s given just 48-hours to transform a bonus loft and staircase of his house. Teammate, brother Jordan Knight, had a previous engagement that kept him from being a part of episode four. So Kristina stepped in to help.

In her post, she writes, “What’s happening here? An ever so brief check in to see @jonathanrknight in Salt Lake – check out Rock the Block tonight on @HGTV to see what I jumped in and helped with !!!

I admit to being super bummed that I couldn’t fit in doing RTB this year with my non TV projects under contract but the next best thing was a visit to pop in and not live through the insanity!!!! The best of all worlds !!! 💗”

Kristina added her special touches to Jonathan’s “health and wellness” space, but had to leave before the judging even began.

Kristina Crestin Has Long History with Jonathan Knight

Kristina Crestin recently appeared on the “Carrigan & Company” podcast, where she told Kim Carrigan that history with Jonathan Knight goes deeper than fans might suspect.

When Carrigan askes her what her favorite New Kids on the Block song is, she replies, “‘Step by Step‘ is still the childhood song, it was my first concert when I was 12 was New Kids, so this goes full circle, right, to how it happens later in life.”

In a 2022 interview with Realtor.com, the pair talked about how Kristina went from preteen fan to business partner.

Jonathan Knight said, “I think like 20 years ago, she worked at a design firm I’d hired, and the first day we met, I just fell in love with her personality, her design style. And it has been nonstop since.”

“I was less than a year out of college when I met Jon and worked on his project,” added Kristina. “Jon was the first client that I met that was really into design and engaged and super excited about all the things he wanted to do, which was different than the average homeowner.”

Jonathan Knight Embraces Chance to Work With Brother Jordan

When Kristina Crestin proved unavailable to participate with Jonathan Knight on season six of “Rock the Block,” Jonathan leaned into the idea of bringing brother and bandmate Jordan Knight on as his teammate.

In an interview with boston.com, Jonathan said, “I competed [on “Rock the Block” two seasons ago; me and my brother judged three seasons ago, so it’s a show I’m familiar with. This year they asked me to do it again, and I was like, “Ooooh, let’s switch it up. Let me bring my brother.” We headed out to Utah for eight weeks. We lived in an apartment together, and just had a really fun time.”

Jordan agreed, saying, “It was a lot of fun. I learned a whole lot. I’m more of an amateur, but I’ve been watching Jon [renovate] for a long time now. I joined him in renovating his cabins up in New Hampshire for “Camp Revamp” and caught the bug —the renovation bug and the TV bug. He asked me if to do this with him. I guess he had enough confidence in me, and I had a blast. Salt Lake City is beautiful. It was just an amazing experience.”

In an Instagram post, the pair shared some of their Utah adventures, with Jonathan writing, “Spent an amazing day with my brother. We started at Antelope Island where we saw wild bison and a pair of great horned owls. Then took a 2 hour drive to the salt flats to watch the sunset over this spectacular place. Really felt like we were on another planet. Having so much fun in Utah.”
