When HGTV star Jonathan Knight is not busy filming new shows for the network or touring with his band New Kids on the Block, he can be found enjoying quiet farm life in Massachusetts with his husband Harley Rodriguez.
In a December 5 Instagram post, Knight brought fans into his house and explained in a video how he was trying to welcome a new member into his and Rodriguez’s New England farmhouse family.
“So every night there’s been a feral cat running around on my back deck, and as you can see it’s pretty scary out there,” Knight shared. “So now that the weather’s getting cold, I got him this cool little hut, and it’s heated, and it has cat food in it. So hopefully he’ll move in there and we can tame him and he can become a barn cat if he’s not too tame. But if he’s tame he can come live in the house. But if he’s not tame he can live outside in his heated little house.”
Knight showed off the small cat house, with a cord leading out into his house to keep the little home heated for his furry friend.
Fans Want an Update From Jonathan Knight
Knight’s post garnered a big reaction from fans, racking up 12,000 likes and more than 800 comments in the first two days since being posted. Many users shared their thoughts on Knight’s attempt to bring a cat into his home, with one user writing, “I love this Jonathan 🥰 A little heated cat house is just the cutest thing 😍 🤞🏻 he uses it. You are the pets Whisperer and we love you for that. Thank you for this 🐈 🙏🏻 💜.”
“I love you for this and I hope it works! Cats choose people and he’s chosen the perfect person ❤️,” a second fan commented.
“Aweeee my mom used to get one of those for the outdoor neighborhood kitties. They work, that’s so sweet, but I’m not surprised. Here’s to your next fur friend ♥️,” another fan added.
Some users called on Knight to share more information, with one user commenting, “Can we get a cat update? Did he or she use the heated cat house? What’s the cat’s name?” Knight has yet to share more information about the feral cat or his experiment with the heated cat house.
Jonathan Knight Returns to ‘Rock the Block’
Fans of Knight’s will get the chance to see him back on their screens in Spring 2025 as he is set to compete on the sixth season of “Rock the Block” alongside his brother and NKOTB bandmate Jordan Knight.
Jonathan shared that while on set for the new season, which filmed this Fall in the Salt Lake City, Utah area, the entire crew got on board with NKOTB. Jonathan posted on Instagram from set on October 30, writing, “These guys!!!!!!! 😂 it’s NKOTB era on Rock The Block!” alongside a picture of three production team members sporting NKOTB t-shirts with his and Jordan’s faces on them.
