Joanna Gaines Stages Fun Surprise for Happy Silos Guests

Spring has sprung at Chip and Joanna Gaines‘ Magnolia Silos in Waco, Texas. And that has inspired Joanna to spring some surprises on unsuspecting visitors!

In an Instagram video, Joanna says, “We thought it would be fun to go meet the spring breakers at the Silos. Maybe read the new kids’ book, maybe meet some kiddos, maybe meet some guests. But we’re excited! Here we go!”

Joanna wears a tan cardigan and ball cap for the visit. In the video, she walks around the Silos grounds greeting fans. She then sits down on the stage to read her children’s book, “The World Needs the Wonder You See.”

In the video, one young fan comes and sits on her lap while she reads to the crowd.

Joanna also took the time to pose for pictures at a “Spring at the Silos” backdrop. Enthusiastic fans waited in a long line to get their picture taken with Jo, who also handed out hugs.

Joanna Gaines Shares Inspiration for Children’s Book in New Interview

Many of the fans waiting in line for a picture with Joanna were holding copies of her new children’s book, “The World Needs the Wonder You See.”

In a new interview with “US” magazine, Jo shares that youngest son Crew was the big inspiration for that book. “I had our first four kids in such quick succession, that honestly, their younger years were a bit of a blur,” Joanna told the magazine. She goes on to say, “I wouldn’t change the way we grew our family, but when Crew came — as a surprise! — I was older, and I don’t want to say that I was ‘wiser’ but I did have these four older kids as living proof that time really does move as fast as everyone promises.”

Jo says Crew, now 6-years-old, changed the way she approached life. “In the first few years of his life, I took my foot off the gas for the first time in what felt like forever, and in the years since, Crew has continued to break through my tendency toward busy and hurry,” said Gaines. “He is constantly reminding me to look up.”

When the book Crew inspired came out, Joanna posted a video on Instagram of sweet times with her son, writing, “Don’t ever stop looking for the wonder ✨
A few years ago I started recording these little chats I’d have with Crew about all the ways he finds beauty and surprise in the everyday. Those conversations inspired an idea for a children’s book.”

Spring at Magnolia Silos Features Flowers and Fun

Joanna Gaines’ surprise visit is just one of the ways the tourist attraction is celebrating spring. On the Magnolia website, a blog post says, “Season after season, the garden remains one of Jo’s favorite places and ours, too. In light of this love, the Silos grounds serve as a backdrop for botanical beauty of many kinds—teeming with flourishing beds, boxes, planters, and climbing vines.

This spring, we’re going beyond the garden with hands-on experiences to cultivate creativity and encourage honing your own green thumb. The best part? Everything is inspired by Jo’s garden and the flower varieties she grows at home.”

Destination Waco promises a fun-filled spring at the Silos. Its website says, “Every weekend there will be either live musicians playing on our stage or artists painting throughout the Silos grounds. Buy one of their prints or sit and listen to the free live music!”

Joanna also sings the praises of spring at the Silos. In an Instagram post, she writes, “Fresh blooms, live music, and the most talented artisans. ✨ It’s Spring at the Silos! Come see us through April 26th as we usher in spring with seasonal menus and experiences all over the grounds”
