Joanna Gaines Reveals Her Strict Rules for New Stripped-Down Cooking Show

Joanna Gaines‘ new cooking show, “Magnolia Table: At the Farm,” brings viewers into her kitchen, and the former HGTV star had some strict filming rules. Check out why Gaines implemented these guidelines.

Joanna Gaines Is Following 2 Rules for ‘Magnolia Table: At the Farm’

During an August 19 interview on the “Today” show, Gaines revealed that she implemented a couple of rules for filming her new show in her home.

“So I have shot about 8 or 9 seasons of ‘Magnolia Table’ at the Gristmill,” she explained. “And this last season I was just thinking, ‘You know, I want to do something a little different.'”

Gaines continued, “I’ve loved being in this space that we just renovated, that was Crew’s bedroom, and now it’s an extension of the kitchen. But I feel like being in that space, I feel so creative and I wanted to do something from home.”

She noted, “But I kind of had a rule. I was like, less than three people in the house, and it has to be when the kids are at school so they don’t know what’s going on. I didn’t want it to feel like a production.”

The Magnolia empire owner added, “So I just wanted to be in that space, and we just kind of went on the fly. And it wasn’t really planned or produced. It was just me, with the camera, and I felt like it was cathartic in some ways. I was talking about things I was about to go through with Ella about to graduate.”

At the heart of the show, Gaines noted, “It was showing simpler recipes instead of these five-course meals that will still bring these meaningful moments around the table.”

Joanna Gaines Shares Look at the Farm in New Trailer

On August 18, Gaines took to Instagram to share the newest “Magnolia Table: At the Farm” teaser, which gives fans a closer look at her home.

“Welcome to the farm. I’m in the room I hide in when I just want to create and bake something fresh,” she explained in the trailer.

Gaines continued, “I’m excited about sharing quicker comfort recipes that I’ve always loved to make for my family. I feel like when we’re in this space, it can be a little more casual.”

She noted, “What I love about these recipes is the memory and the story that’s attached. I think you’re gonna love it.”

The video explained, “Get the story behind the recipes … and an intimate look at Chip and Jo’s farm.”

“This white fence, everything that happens on this side of it is Chip’s business, and on that side, I get to do whatever I want,” she shared.

“Magnolia Table: At the Farm” premieres September 7 at 11 a.m. EST on both Magnolia Network and Food Network and streams on HBO Max.
