Joanna Gaines’ ‘Mini Reni’ Trailer Promises Simple, Budget-Friendly Home Updates

Joanna Gaines is plotting for you to do the easy work in your next home renovation.

Magnolia Network has dropped a new trailer for Gaines’ show “Mini Reni” that aims to feature smaller renovations that pretty much any homeowner can do.

“It doesn’t have to be a dramatic renovation. It can literally be simple little details,” Gaines says. “The hope is that we can inspire you to tackle your own mini reni.”

All Flip, No Flop

As we reported recently, “Mini Reni” is Gaines’ solo outing that will feature the host as she “takes on a series of ‘mini’ projects with quick timelines. In each episode, she makes a few intentional, creative additions to transform smaller spaces with big impact.”

“As your home evolves, as the story of your family evolves, you want to make these spaces work for you,” says Gaines about the premise of the show.

“This is where I can feel a bit more freedom to try new ideas,” she adds. “And end with these fresh finished spaces that didn’t require months of work.”

Gaines’ popular renovation series, “Fixer Upper,” with husband Chip – as well as other shows of the same ilk – would see projects take anywhere from three to eight months to complete.

No Demo Reno

“Mini Reni” will feature nine episodes of smaller projects including a secret passageway leading to a playroom. There’s also what appear to be his and her home offices in another featured space.

No matter the project, the host is looking to keep everything on budget.

“Some of these little cheats can make it feel more impactful, make it feel more elevated,” Gaines said. “But you’re not spending too much to make a pretty cool impact.”

“How do we mess with something that’s really simple that you can get at your local hardware store?” Gaines adds.

Fans are excited about the new show.

One commented on Instagram “Small changes with a big impact are so cool! ❤️”

Another wants ideas for their home, writing “YES 🙌🏾 I’ve been waiting for more mini rinis! Any tips on an apartment rini? My apartment is just too white and sterile.”

One fan is just excited to see Gaines again: “The original Queen of homestyle is back!!!!! Love this-can’t wait.”

“Mini Reni” premieres Wednesday, May 14 at 8 PM on Magnolia Network before premiering on Max and Discovery Plus. The first season will run through July.
