Jenny Marrs Shares Vulnerable Post About ‘Awful Season of Constant Pain’

Jenny Marrs was recently reminded of a painful memory and decided to share it rather than keep it to herself. Find out why the HGTV star took to social media to explain her “awful season of constant pain.”

Jenny Marrs Said an Allergic Reaction Became Very Painful

On May 1, Marrs took to her Instagram Stories to share a memory from a year ago.

“Timehop reminded me that one year ago, I had my lip biopsy. I had an allergic reaction that just wasn’t healing (no I didn’t get lip filler) and my doctor wanted to biopsy to make sure it wasn’t something else,” she wrote.

The HGTV star shared the image from one year ago with a warning covering her lips that read: “If you’re grossed out easily, don’t look at the next slide. It was soooo painful … “

In the next slide, Marrs revealed her full face, writing, “I’m thankful that my lips have healed and my scar is all that’s left of this awful season of constant pain.”

The “Fixer to Fabulous” star went on to share how the HGTV show’s crew was able to cover it for her.

“It was triggered by an allergic reaction to mint. And it took months and months to heal,” she explained. “Not fun having to film during this time. (It also happened a few years ago but the biopsy healing was a LOT). Our camera operators and editors are incredible. They were so careful to help hide this.”

Marrs also noted how being vulnerable and revealing the photo was an important reminder for her.

“I never shared that before and felt led to today. God reminded me through that photo that sometimes we walk through really hard, really painful seasons,” she explained. “And, we come out the other side with battle wounds and scars.”

She added, “But, we do come out the other side. His faithfulness never fails. My heart needed the reminder today. Maybe someone else’s did too.”

In 2023, Marrs shared details of her allergic reaction to synthetic mint. “NO I did NOT get ‘my lips done.’ I had a terrible allergic reaction last year that took months to heal,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time.

She explained, “It was such a nightmare and was so so painful. My lips were swollen and it hurt to talk and eat. I cried every day when we filmed because it hurt so badly to talk. I was in and out of doctors trying everything. It just took time to heal (plus steroids).”
