HGTV star Jenny Marrs shared a look at some of the treasures they selected during a visit to Italy with the intention of selling them in their new store, Marrs on Main. One of the art pieces was so special, however, Marrs couldn’t part with it.
Jenny Marrs Receives a Large Shipment of Items From Italy
On May 12, Marrs took to Instagram to excitedly share the shipment they had been waiting months to receive. While in Italy, she and her husband Dave purchased a lot of unique items that they planned to sell at Marrs on Main.
The shipment finally arrived and Marrs got to work unpacking everything, giving fans a glimpse at just some of the beautiful pieces of artwork they received.
The HGTV star admitted she couldn’t sell one of the pieces and instead found a place for it in her kitchen at home. In her Instagram Stories, she teased, “We have the most incredible art that arrived from Italy for @marrsonmain,” adding of the Nonna painting, “I knew when I chose her that I couldn’t sell her. She belongs in my kitchen.”
Marrs Shows Off Some of the Art Pieces
In the video, they placed all of the art pieces from the first crate on a table and Marrs showed off each one.
“We opened @marrsonmain with the intention of selling one-of-a-kind pieces that we truly love. So, when we were in Italy visiting fr-amily (friends who are like family) for New Year’s and we heard of a friend-of-a-friend who collects and sells antiques, we knew we had to check out his collection,” she wrote in the caption.
Marrs continued, “It turns out, he had a massive warehouse of TREASURES tucked away in an unassuming roadside building just outside of our little town. We filled a container with furniture, art, rugs and brass decor and excitedly waited (and waited and waited) for all of the permits from the fine art departments and the slew of antiques-leaving-the-country-permissions.”
She noted, “And! The container finally arrived last week! 🙌”
Marrs explained, “I’ll share more of the pieces soon but I wanted to give y’all a little sneak peek into one of the crates of art we unpacked over the weekend. I can’t handle how gorgeous it all is!!!!”
The HGTV star added, “Also, I’m unable to sell the Nonna painted in the 1800’s because I love her dearly and she’s now hanging in my kitchen. La nonna deve stare in cucina (Grandma belongs in the kitchen, after all) 😍♥️.”
She promised to reveal all of the treasures at the store very soon. “Stay tuned for more details but we hope to have a big Italian antique unveiling day later this week at Marrs on Main! (We are busy at work tagging the pieces with all of the historical details because my favorite type of addition to my home is one with a story to tell),” Marrs explained.
