Jenny Marrs had a tough choice to make during a pet adoption event — and the HGTV star said she had to show “restraint.” Though Marrs wanted to adopt a pet, she explained why she had to say no to those adorable furry faces.
Jenny Marrs Explained Why She Couldn’t Adopt a Puppy
On February 7, Marrs took to Instagram to share the details of a pet adoption event they hosted. The “Fixer to Fabulous” star shared photos from the day, but pointed out how her family had to pass on adopting a pet.
“The last time we hosted a pet adoption event, Banana joined our family and, this time, I exercised extreme restraint,” she shared in the caption.
Marrs continued, “I wanted to bring them all home with me but we have our beloved 17 year-old Dolly to care for and love on and a puppy would’ve been too much for her. Granted, this did set the plan for adopting Lloyd into motion so … 🐾😉.”
She added, “A few behind-the-scenes moments from the Brookhouser pet adoption event because puppies and kittens make everyone smile! Happy Friday, friends!” The HGTV star shared a series of photos and a video that included lots of snuggling with puppies and kittens.
A fan commented, “What incredible restraint you showed! I would’ve taken two kittens, a puppy, and a glass of lemonade! Cheers to all animal rescues and adopters!”
Marrs noted that her husband, Dave, helped keep her in check. She responded, “If @dave.marrs hadn’t been there, I would’ve just piled them all in the car and driven home.”
Another fan noted, “Oh my! Surrounded by puppies & kittens is my idea of Heaven! Love that you host such an awesome event!!! Dolly is a lucky senior doggo to be so loved! ♥️🐾”
The Marrs Family Adopted Their Newest Family Member: Meet Lloyd
On February 4, Marrs shared more about how a “Fixer to Fabulous” renovation resulted in a new family member — a kitten they named Lloyd.
“Tonight’s episode ends with a pet adoption event and (shockingly!) we didn’t go home with a new pet that day,” she explained. “We had no plans to adopt another pet until Holly’s new foster kittens moved in and Lloyd made his way into our hearts.”
She continued, “Because you won’t see him tonight, I thought I’d share a little Lloyd reel so you can see how much joy and laughter he’s brought to our family! 🐾🤍”
In a February 3 Instagram post, Marrs shared photos of the catio space they built for the homeowners in the episode. “Ok, I think this is the most brilliant use of space for a cat-lover and cat-foster mom parent like Holly,” she explained in the caption. “AND, selfishly, I love it even more because the catio brought Lloyd into our lives!”
Marrs explained, “When Holly texted me about how much her new foster kittens liked the space, I couldn’t get past how adorable itty bitty Lloyd was and we adopted our sweet boy not long after.”
