Arts and crafts aren’t Jenny Marrs‘ strong suit, it seems. The HGTV star noticed she made a mistake on a “Fixer to Fabulous” renovation project and her husband Dave had to step in and help her fix it.
Jenny Marrs Makes a Renovation Project Mistake
On March 18, Jenny took to Instagram to share a clip from the motel renovation episode of “Fixer to Fabulous.”
“I knew I wanted to save and reuse the old ‘Beaver Lake Lodge’ sign letters and, in doing so, inadvertently assigned myself an arts and crafts project,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m not an arts and crafts kind of girl 🤣.”
She continued, “Dave and I laughed so hard at the fact that my sign letters were crooked. He tried to get me to ignore the slant but I couldn’t do it. So, we started over and he helped this time. 🤣”
The HGTV star added, “TONIGHT is the big ARKA Motel interior reveal! You don’t want to miss it!! 8/7c on HGTV. See you tonight, friends!”
In the video, Dave explains, “We need to go back and do a little bit of rework,” pointing to Jenny.
In another clip she posted on her Instagram Story, Jenny claims, “It’s not my fault because nobody was helping me. I had to do it all on my own.”
Dave Marrs Saves the Day
Jenny didn’t see the error of her ways until they hung the ARKA motel sign on the wall. Then it was very clear that the letters didn’t line up. Dave got involved, patiently helping his wife by taking the letters off and starting over.
After laying the sign down, Dave assures her, “I’m not going to say anything because it happens.” When he measures the letters, he finds the last one is off an inch from the others.
“It could happen to anyone and we’re fixing it,” he explains.
Jenny asks him, “That’s all you’re going to say about it?”
He answers, “That’s it,” adding, “I love that you were out in the shop working with me, helping me.”
She interjects jokingly, “I’ll never be invited back.”
As they fix the letters, carefully measuring this time, she tells him, “It’s harder than it looks, isn’t it?”
When Jenny later explains the difficulty of getting the letters spaced correctly, Dave jokes, “You have to be able to read a tape measure to do it.”
