Jenny Marrs has been very open with fans lately about some of the struggles that come with her family’s HGTV fame.
But now she’s giving a glimpse at how the “Fixer to Fabulous” stars find peace amidst the chaos that sometimes goes with filming a tv show, opening a new store and raising five kids in the public eye.
In an Instagram post, Jenny put up a serene video of a family walk on the Marrs Farm at sunset. The video is backed by the soft music and tweeting birds of “Yoga Sounds Birds of Spring.”
In the caption, Jenny writes, “Spring evenings most often find us walking the fields after dinner. We walk and pray, we check in on the blooms and talk through what needs to be done before berry season. Pulling weeds, mowing the fields, mending fences, moving animals, fixing the broken irrigation line, building tables for the Berry Bloom dinner… the list goes on and on. This work is never easy but it is always, always worth it.”
Marrs Berry Farm is Passion Project for Family
In the post, Jenny goes on to talk about texts between the Marrs and a pastor friend serving in Zimbabwe. She writes, “In a text with our Zimbabwean leader and friend, Pastor John, last week, I asked how he and Orpah and the kids were doing, and after an encouraging update, he turned it back to me in the compassionate way he always does. His words resonated so deeply – “We pray for you all we know how busy you are and you definitely need uplifting in order to cope.”
Isn’t that true of us all? We need uplifting in order to cope. That is the true definition of community. While a sea separates us, our prayers unite us and this work of caring well for our neighbors locally and globally is spurred along.”
Marrs Family Raffles Tickets to Dinner at Their Farm
As in years past, Dave and Jenny Marrs will open their Berry Farm. The farm funds an agricultural and vocational skills training program for orphaned and at-risk teens in a rural village in Zimbabwe.
But this year, they are giving fans a chance to be a part of the “Berry Bloom Dinner” that kicks of the season.
In Jenny’s instagram post, she writes, “We hope you can join us in the fields this summer and be a part of this work. And, we would love for you to join us at our intimate gathering coming up in the fields – the Berry Bloom dinner on May 1st. We have a sponsorship or two remaining (link in my profile) AND we have received a generous sponsorship and donation from Susan at @typo_market – who can’t make the dinner. So, we are raffling off her two tickets to a lucky winner!
➡️ Raffle details: for every $10 donation (all donations will go toward the agricultural training school for vulnerable teens in Zimbabwe our farm supports), you will receive one entry. Raffle closes on Monday, 4/28. Enter at the link in my profile!
Best of luck! 🤍”
The dinner is at the Marrs Farm in Bentonville in northwest Arkansas.
You can enter that raffle here. Entries close Monday, April 28.
Marrs Family Decides to Expand Berry Fest
The Marrs have also announced that they’re changing the way the Berry Farm works this year.
In recent years, the Berry Farm has been open for a one-day “Berry Fest.” But this year, the Marrs say they’re going back to the way they used to do it, opening the farm for the season.
Customers can come pick their own blueberries. The Marrs say their blueberries typically ripen mid-June and picking season will run into early July.
They plan to open the farm two to three days a week during the time the blueberries are ripe, to allow as many fans as possible to come to the farm and fill a bucket with blueberries to help the Marrs’ charity. They’ll announce specific opening dates closer to time once it becomes clear when the berries will be at their peak.
