HGTV’s Jenny Marrs Is ‘At a Loss for Words’ Over Texas Flooding Tragedy

HGTV star Jenny Marrs has been praying for those impacted by the July 2025 flash floods in Central Texas. Marrs shared her thoughts on the devastating news and explained how they are helping by donating a percentage of their stores’ sales.

Jenny Marrs Shares ‘Loss for Words’ Following the Tragedy

On July 7, Marrs took to Instagram to share that her family has been “praying and pleading” for those impacted by the tragedy in Texas.

“I’ve been at a loss for words the past few days. Glued to the news, refreshing my browser for updates, praying and pleading and saying the names of the missing campers aloud,” Marrs wrote.

She continued, “I will never pretend to understand this tragedy or be able to articulate my deep, deep sorrow for the mommas who, just last week did exactly what I’ve been doing this week: listening to my girls excited voices plan themed outfits, packing the trunks, labeling the sheets and hiding little notes and favorite candy surprises.”

Marrs touched on the emotions involved with kids going to camp. “We, who send our babies off to camp each summer, do so with a lump in our throats and joy in our hearts,” she noted. “For we know that camp is the magical place where they stay up too late giggling with their friends as they braid one another’s hair. The place where they pack extra snacks to share with their bunkmates and swim until their fingertips are wrinkly and sing songs about Jesus and learn about Who He is.”

Marrs added, “The place where, when they cry at night missing home, the counselors take them aside to comfort them and make them feel safe and seen and loved.”

The HGTV star shared, “And, now. Forever in the heart of Texas, camp is something more. It’s a place of devastation and suffering and trauma and heartbreak beyond comprehension.”

Marrs noted that their weekend involved spending “a lot of time with Jesus,” as they talked about the campers, counselors, camp director, and those “who continue to risk their own lives on rescue missions.”

She shared, “And, mostly, I can’t stop talking with Him about the mommas. I can’t stop reminding Him to hold the ones who did all the fun momma-of-a-summer-camper things and didn’t get to do the best one of all: wrapping her arms around her girl again as she recounts all of the week’s stories. So many mommas who will never get to have that precious privilege. Lord, Jesus, be near.”

Marrs added, “May they know that we are for them and with them and aching and grieving alongside them. May they feel buoyed in these nightmarish, dark, unfathomable days by our collective love.”

Dave & Jenny Marrs Donate Percentage of Store Sales to Flood Relief

Marrs ended her Instagram post by sharing, “a % of sales at @marrsmercantile & @marrsonmain will be donated to aid in TX.”

The stores’ Instagram accounts explained, “Our community is often just the people we see everyday, but this weekend it includes our grieving neighbors in Texas as they continue to search for precious souls.”

The post added, “Our hearts are broken for the families impacted across Central Texas, and we are turning that heartache into action. We are donating 10% of sales for the next 3 days to rescue efforts, flood relief, and to the people impacted.”

Marrs noted on her Instagram Story, “I feel helpless, as we all do. We are doing a small thing — donating a portion of sales in store and online from Marrs Mercantile and Marrs on Main — to aid in relief efforts.”

She explained that they are researching where to direct the money and will continue to update their followers. “Hold your babies tightly today and please keep praying,” Marrs added.
