Jasmine Roth says she’s nervous.
A little bit nervous anyway.
Or maybe a lot?
The star of HGTV’s “Help! I Wrecked My House” is back on the set filming season five of the show. But everything- and we mean EVERYTHING- is different.
Since she wrapped season four, Jasmine has had her second baby, moved her business and her family from California to Utah, lost her beloved grandfather and served as a guest judge on season six of “Rock the Block” just weeks after giving birth.
Now she’s navigating picking back up where she left off on her own show in a new state with an expanded crew. What’s to be nervous about, right?
Jasmine Roth Is Ready to Tackle New Challenges
Jasmine Roth went live on Instagram to let fans in on her jitters as she pulled up to the first house that will be featured on season five of “Help! I Wrecked My House.” Jasmine admitted to fans that she had eaten a breakfast burrito in the car and stained the shirt she was supposed to wear all day on the show.
She also pulled out a huge bag of burritos for her crew, saying in previous seasons, she had a crew of “ten people at most.” But now she has to buy so many breakfast burritos to feed the expanded crew, she can hardly lift the sack.
Still the designer says that’s a good thing. The expanded crew allows her to spend less time on set and more time with her young family. Jasmine and her husband have two daughters- Hazel, who is five-years-old and 8-month-old Darla, who was born last September.
Jasmine Roth Is Feeling Reflective
Wisely, Jasmine Roth is taking some time to process through all the big life changes.
In an Instagram post about Mother’s Day, Roth admitted that many of the changes have been a surprise- especially second daughter Darla.
In the post, she writes, “After having Hazel we were sure that we were done having kids. And I mean DONE. I’m not sure if it was having her at such a strange time in life (one month into a global pandemic 😬), or maybe my body not being able to recover (the start to my health journey with functional medicine), or maybe just what we all go through as new parents where we think we’re ready for kids but have no idea. Either way, I felt like I lost myself and had to completely start over. A new identity, a new pace, a new body…but also a new best friend, a new priority, and a new love like I’d never known. Good or bad, it was a LOT of new and I struggled.
As I go into my first Mother’s Day as a mom of 2 (👏👏) I can’t help but think about how much has changed. I hardly recognize the person I was before becoming a mom and while that might have terrified the 2020 version of me, it feels really acceptable to the 2025 version. It took a while to find this peace.
I share my story because we’re all at different stages in our journey. Becoming a mother was hard for me and I know it was hard for a lot of you too. I think the more we talk about our challenges, the more normal we hopefully all will feel. After all, we’re all in this together and we’re all just doing our best. 😘”
How ‘Rock the Block’ Helped Jasmine Roth Beat a Post-Partum Funk
Jasmine was a guest judge on episode two of season six of “Rock the Block,” which was filmed just five weeks after she gave birth to Darla.
But that tight timeline actually ended up working out to Jasmine’s advantage.
In an Instagram post about being on “Rock the Block” with fellow guest judge Mina Starsiak Hawk, Jasmine wrote, “all of you new parents can probably relate that sometimes it’s that first little outing back to work that helps you feel human again, but also makes you really appreciate how necessary maternity leave is. I was pumping milk, feeling weepy, figuring what clothes would fit, eating everything, and wondering if I was going to sneeze and pee my pants…all while trying to do my job. I remember looking at pics of Darla on my phone and wondering if she was missing me. 🥹”
She goes on to say, “Fast forward and tonight baby Darla gets to watch her mom on tv for the first time. Yay! Not sure she’ll totally understand what’s happening, but I like to think she’ll be proud. I know Hazel will be!”
