HGTV’s Jasmine Roth Answers ‘Big’ Question She’s Asked Daily: ‘The Truth Is … ‘

HGTV star Jasmine Roth has a lot going on in her life lately — including a new baby and moving her family from California to Utah. The “Help! I Wrecked My House” host said she’s trying her best to answer one question she gets asked “every day” about her life, but it’s complicated.

Jasmine Roth Reveals She Doesn’t ‘Have a Great Answer’ to 1 Question

On January 23, Roth took to Instagram to share a sweet video of her baby, Darla Rose, with text that indicated “I’m not sure how to answer this question … more in caption.”

In the caption, the HGTV star shared, “‘Why did you move?’ It makes sense that I’m asked this question every day — our family just moved to a new state. But ‘why’ is such a big question and the truth is — I don’t really have a great answer.”

She continued, “I stumble through a story about how @brettrothofficial and I love snowboarding (we do!) and while that’s true, is that really the reason? Is it because we were ready for a change? Is it because we wanted a slower pace? Is it because we needed a new challenge? Is it the nature? The seasons? Is it that Utah is our happy place?”

While she said, “All of these reasons are true,” she admitted that “it feels like a lot to rattle off when trying to answer a casual question. 🤭”

Roth added, “Either way, we’re here and we’re doing it! What big decision have you made lately that’s hard to explain?”

She also offered up an apology to those who have asked her about the move “and I’ve stumbled through an answer.” Roth noted, “I’d like to say it will get better, but baby brain is REAL.”

Jasmine Roth Reflected on How She ‘Started Completely Over on Every Level’

On January 16, Roth shared an emotional Instagram post that celebrated Darla Rose being 4 months old.

She noted in the caption, “It’s been an unpredictable time in our lives.”

Roth shared, “On top of the newborn bubble that inevitably turns every parent upside down, we moved to a new state, into a new house, I moved my show and company, and we’ve basically just started completely over on every level.”

She admitted, “It’s fair to say that it’s been a lot more than we expected. It’s been a constant battle to stay present, stay awake, stay strong, stay patient, and stay the course.”

Roth said the adjustment of moving from “a very plug-n-play life in California” to their new location has “been a bit of a slow start getting into any sort of groove.” Even with the life disruption, she was celebrating baby Darla, husband Brett, and 4-year-old daughter Hazel Lynn, sharing that she has “deep gratitude for the little things.”
