HGTV Gives Popular Contractor His Own Show, Coming in February

The HGTV show that put ex-spouses Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack on the map, “Flip or Flop,” ended in 2022 after 10 seasons. Both stars have maintained a continual presence on the network in their various series, but many fans have wondered what happened to beloved contractor Israel “Izzy” Battres, a fixture on “Flip or Flop.”

Soon, they’ll get to see Battres again as he kicks off his own HGTV show, “Izzy Does It.” The network announced on January 22, 2025, that his new series will premiere on February 5, airing right after El Moussa and Haack’s new show, “The Flip-Off.”

Fans Thrilled to See Izzy Battres & His Family ‘Shine’ on HGTV

Battres’ new show is based in Santa Ana, California, where he runs his family-owned home renovation business. On the eight-episode premiere season, according to HGTV, Battres will use “his expertise, relatable budgets and cost saving techniques to bring luxury designs to homeowners.”

“Throughout my years working with high-end designers and architects, I’ve discovered how to give clients their luxury remodel without the high cost,” he said in a press release about the eight-episode premiere season. “Half of our company’s employees are family members, so I’m driven to be successful and establish a legacy for the next generation.”

“Izzy Does It” will also feature the contractor’s family members, HGTV said. His wife Lily is a designer, his stepson Joseph his apprentice, his stepdaughter Brianna serves as the company’s marketing lead, and his brother Rudy “RudeDog” is a project manager.

Happy to cheer Battres on, Haack responded to HGTV’s post about the “Izzy Does It” premiere date by writing, “Yassss 👏👏👏👏👏❤️”

“Flip or Flop” fans were also thrilled to see Battres returning to the network, including one who wrote, “So excited for this! I love Izzy and he deserves nothing but the best! ❤️”

Another commented, “Good for him!!! It’s about time the people in the trenches get some shine!!”

First Episode of ‘Izzy Does It’ Features Colorful Transformation of an ‘Anaheim Casita’

HGTV announced Battres’ show in June and “Izzy Does It” wrapped up filming in early December, according to an Instagram post from him.

“Izzy Does It is officially in the books,” he wrote, “and what an unforgettable time it’s been! This show was an absolute blast to be part of, and I couldn’t be more excited for everyone to see what we’ve created. From start to finish, this team was next-level amazing—working with such talented, passionate people was a total dream.”

In the February 5 season premiere, HGTV said, “Izzy will pull out all his tricks to turn an Anaheim casita into the home his clients have always envisioned. To fulfill the homeowners’ wishes of honoring their heritage through design, Izzy will rely on his whole team to deliver a colorful and unique space. Throughout the project, Izzy and his crew will face unexpected setbacks and special requests, including a detailed tile installation that puts Joseph to the test.”

“Izzy Does It” premieres on February 5 at 9 p.m. Eastern time and will also stream on Max.
