HGTV star Nicole Curtis is a proud mom of two sons, Ethan and Haper, but will they join her in the newest chapter of “Rehab Addict?” As she explained to People, Season 9’s episodes won’t be a family affair. “I think there’s one gift we can give our children, and I give them privacy,” the rehabber shared. “They’re out in public with me a lot, and I shield them.”
Nicole went on to explain that times have changed in terms of social media. “My son [Ethan], when we first started the TV show years ago, we didn’t have all the social media presence,” she said. “He was in sixth grade, he thought it was cool, and his buddies thought it was cool to be on TV.” The rehabber also emphasized just how important her sons are to her, saying: “My boys are my most precious, precious things in the entire world to me.”
Ethan Previously Appeared in The Beloved Series Alongside Nicole
Ethan has been by his mom’s side nearly every step of the way in her home rehab career. In a 2024 Instagram post, Nicole highlighted this fact for fans. “We went into this house ‘I’m not a flipper’ business together,” she said of her son. “It was not an easy path, there was no overnight success, there were years of sacrifice and a different kind of childhood for my oldest.”
Although Ethan and his brother will be absent from Season 9, the now-twenty-seven-year-old did appear in previous seasons. For example, in a YouTube clip from 2021, Ethan helps his mom sort out a design blunder in an old home. “This child has heard me walk and talk about old houses for his entire life,” Nicole said of Ethan’s renovation knowledge.
Fans Will Still See ‘Little Hints’ of Her Children in Season 9

Her sons won’t lend their physical presence to “Rehab Addict” anymore, but Nicole says they’ll still appear in the series in other ways. “You’ll see I refer to them a lot,” she told people. “I talk about my children a lot. I’m that mom.” She also added that fans will see “little hints” of her sons this season.
Nicole also admits that the option to seek stardom is a nice perk for Ethan and Harper, even if they aren’t currently pursuing it. “I think it’s a gift to my children that if they want to be on TV, they could be on TV,” she said. “But not on this [season].”
