HGTV star Jenny Marrs is reflecting on a “Fixer to Fabulous” renovation that was really special. Marrs and her husband Dave had their work cut out for them after tornadoes ripped through the community. The result was beautiful … and emotional.
Jenny Marrs Says Home Renovation Featured on ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Was Emotional
On February 27, Marrs took to Instagram to give some insight into what it was like to rebuild one special home featured on their HGTV series. The house was one of many that needed to be restored after the community was hit by tornadoes.
“My goodness, this was [an] emotional one. Our community suffered immense loss last May when tornadoes touched down all across town in the middle of the night,” she explained in the caption. “At the time, we had already been planning to renovate Shelly and Alexa’s home (that had belonged to Shelly’s parents — Alexa’s grandparents) but the scope of work changed drastically after the storm.”
The HGTV star continued, “This home held countless family memories and our job was to restore what had been lost and to bring back life and joy and light. It was a beautiful, tearful reveal day. Lots of hugs and reminiscing took place.”
Marrs added, “And, it felt so good to give this well-loved home back to this beautiful mother-daughter duo. 🤍”
Ahead of the episode, Marrs shared in an Instagram post: “This one is really special — we work on a generational family home that was devastated when the tornadoes ripped through town last year. This was such a special project for us as our community reeled from the aftermath of the storms and we set out to help rebuild one home at a time. 🤍”
