HGTV star Heather Rae El Moussa is opening up about her relationship with her husband, Tarek El Moussa‘s ex-wife, Christina Haack.
In a January 2025 interview with Us Weekly, alongside her husband and Haack, Heather Rae El Moussa noted that they all filmed together for the new HGTV series, “The Flip Off.” While filming the series, Heather Rae El Moussa and her husband competed against Haack to see who is the better house flipper.
In the Us Weekly interview, Heather Rae El Moussa said she enjoyed her time filming with Haack for “The Flip Off.” According to Heather Rae El Moussa, Haack sent her a kind text message after they shot together for the first time.
“It was great. She texted me after saying, ‘You’re so fun to film with,’ and I was like, “Oh, you too!” We just laugh,” said Heather Rae El Moussa.
She also shared that she and Haack enjoyed teasing Tarek El Moussa during the production of the series. Tarek El Moussa then quipped that he did not receive a nice text message from Haack.
“I didn’t get a text, by the way!” said Tarek El Moussa with a laugh.
Heather Rae El Moussa & Christina Haack Spoke About Their Dynamic in a Separate Interview
During a joint January 2025 Access Hollywood interview, the El Moussas and Haack spoke about their dynamic while filming “The Flip Off.” According to Heather Rae El Moussa, her husband and his ex-wife, who divorced in 2018, often bicker, which she finds amusing.
“I feel like I was definitely the mediator in between. And I would kind of like keep my cool. But they fight like brother and sister. So it’s really funny,” said Heather Rae El Moussa during the interview.
Heather Rae El Moussa also said she and Haack “had fun” teasing Tarek El Moussa.
“We get along and we’re not picking at each other. But [Tarek] is easy,” said Heather Rae El Moussa.
Haack agreed that her ex-husband, the father of her two eldest children, Brayden and Taylor, is “easy to make fun of.”
“You’re always doing something odd,” said Haack to her ex-husband, causing Heather Rae El Moussa to laugh.
When Heather Rae El Moussa said her husband takes the teasing “well,” he replied, “I don’t take it well.”
“It hurts my feelings,” said Tarek El Moussa with a slight smile, indicating that he was joking.
Christina Haack Said Her Estranged Husband Josh Hall Did Not Like Her Relationship With Tarek El Moussa
During a November 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Haack discussed her relationship with her estranged husband, Josh Hall. Haack noted that Hall filmed one episode of “The Flip Off” until he exited the show following their July 2024 separation. Haack said Hall was unhappy about her dynamic with Tarek El Moussa.
“‘Cause Tarek and I have our own dynamic. And some could call it flirty. It’s more like — for me, it’s like a sibling type thing,” said Haack to the publication.
